Malia ended the call and faced her step-mother. She had been in such a good mood that she had completely forgotten that there would be a reckoning when she got home. Seems like her hope that Shannon would just forget about this morning was all a dream, but then again she should have known better than to think that Shannon would forget her little slip up. It was time to face the music. “Shannon, I don’t know what got into me this morning. I am so sorry for what I said; I don’t know why I said it and it definitely won’t happen again.” Malia shifted uncomfortably while looking down at her feet. “Really, you think you can just say sorry and we can forget about how disrespectful you were to me this morning?” Shannon’s voice was dripping with sarcasm.
