Khione nervously lay on the small flower bed Princess Electra had prepared for her. She did not understand the purpose of the flower bed but Princess Electra assured her it was not in vain.
"These flowers facilitate Qi and blood," she spoke as she added more flowers around Khione. "Once they have flowered, they have the highest energy in the world. So they will help in the healing process."
Khione didn't bother asking any questions and complicating everything even further. She was already nervous enough over the fact that she was about to die any second with the possibility of never waking up again.
Princess Electra stopped what she was doing and looked down at Khione with a disappointed look on her face.
"Don't be ridiculous, I will do everything in my power to make sure you wake up again," she said with a frown, reading Khione's memories again.
"I believe you," Khione responded, "I'm just naturally a little nervous. It's my first time dying, after all," she tried to joke, although it came out too forcefully so it ended up killing the mood even further.
"Don't worry about anything. Just close your eyes and relax. I'll deal with everything else," Princess Electra told her, trying to ease down Khione's feelings. She knew it would be a hard task, but she really needed Khione to trust her in order for the task to be successful. However, she could understand why it would be so hard. Especially considering the fact that they haven't even known each other for very long. "Please just trust me."
Khione gulped but nodded nonetheless as she lay back and closed her eyes. It was time and she was more than ready. She just wanted it to be over and done with and whatever were to happen, she would accept it as it was her fate.
"I trust you," she told the princess who sighed in relief as a result.
Princess Electra looked over Khione's now naked body as she lay on the flower bed she had prepared for her. Her entire body was covered in black and blue bruises and she was certain that the poor girl did not have long left to live whether she had a hand in it or not.
She gently picked up Khione's hands and placed them on top of each other across her abdomen. She then picked up a silver stake engraved with alchemic symbol of the queen of the night and lay it on Khione's chest. The symbol was a simple black circle with a black crescent moon attached to either side of it, both facing the opposite direction. The symbol represented the fox spirit, who was known as the queen of the night. Right below the queen of the night symbol was the alchemic symbol of the cosmic lemniscate, which represented eternity. And finally, right beneath it was the symbol of the Earth, which was an upside down triangle with a line through the middle of it.
Although individually the symbols each had meanings that did not coexist, when placed together on the stake, they represented the power of the fox spirit protecting the creature of the earth, forever.
Once Princess Electra's magic brought Khione back to life, both of their souls would be intertwined forever. It was dangerous and went against the rules of nature, however, Princess Electra was promising her ancestors that she would take all responsibility for anything that went wrong during the initiation and after it. There was a high chance that Khione would turn into a creature of the devil, however, Princess Electra was willing to take her shots if it meant that she would finally get a chance to exact her revenge. However, as much as she wanted to avenge herself, she also did not want to hurt Khione. So she was vowing that from that moment on, she would take full responsibility of Khione's life and actions from that moment on.
With that thought, she stood up straight and began to chant some alchemic scriptures which she had written herself. She had been studying the magic of alchemy for months and although it was dangerous to be using a magical verse she had created herself, it was her best option.
As she chanted, Khione's eyes suddenly opened on their own accord and a loud blood curdling scream escaped her throat. She tried to desperately move from her spot but there was an invisible force holding her down.
She tried to turn to the princess to beg her to stop, but her body was paralysed. All she could do was scream in pain as her body burned from within.
Although a sudden icy wind picked up and rushed through the mountain as Princess Electra continued to chant her verses, Khione's body was blazing. Another blood curdling scream escaped her lips and she began to hear the crackling of the bones as they began to snap one after the other.
No matter how much she screamed and shouted, the pain did not dissipate. It just worsened and worsened until she began to cry tears of blood.
It was too much for Khione to handle and eventually, in a horrifically painfully way, Khione's pained soul shattered her heart and ended her life.
