6 Party

Now Laraine felt that Andrew was really like her teacher. He asked her to hand in a plan. Really? Was she a child? She was planning on revenge, to make all the people who tried to kill her go to hell. But she could not tell Andrew that. She knew that Andrew just wanted her career plan or some s**t like that. Well, forget about it. She would think about it later.   Before she left Aiken gave her a card. It was a black shiny new debit card. “What’s this?” “This is your pocket money,” Aiken replied. He then asked one of the female secretaries to take her shopping. Laraine wanted to refuse, there was nothing wrong with her clothing! But Aiken continued on, “Mr. Andrew said that you are a member of the Jones family. You can’t embarrass the Jones outside.”   The secretary took Laurence to an upscale clothing store. Surprisingly, it was a brand that Laraine already enjoyed. According to Laurence's height and figure, the secretary selected two sleek suits for her. Then she handed Laraine an exquisite box from her branded purse. “Miss Laurence, this is a limited edition wristwatch, one from Mr. Andrew’s collections. He asked me to give it to you.”   Laraine looked down at the box in confusion. She was not stupid – she knew just how expensive the brand was and Andrew wanted to give one to her! But why? She carefully opened the box and took out the watch and put it on. It fit snugly on her wrist like it was made for her. That is odd, Laraine thought. How did Andrew know her wrist size?   _______   The party was held in a villa Daisy always preferred to rent. She liked to go all out for her house parties from the food to the decorations to the live DJ. She had been preparing for this for a month! “Daisy, I heard that you invited that chick? Laurence? Do you seriously want to degrade yourself by being seen with her?” “Don’t say that about her! She’s a sweet girl!” “You do know that the Jones treats her like trash? She is not worth anything and yet you still choose to waste your time with her?”     Hearing that, Daisy frowned, “Laurence is not the kind of person you think. You can’t bully someone just because of their circumstances. If you have a problem, you can leave!” Daisy replied angrily. She was tired of being nagged by her friends about Laurence. For Daisy, Laurence was one of her best friends. The relationship between them was not what others thought.   As she turned around Daisy was confused to see someone entering the door. She was wearing a sharp black pant suit with bright red heels. Her makeup was dark and smoky accentuating her eyes. “Oh my God! Who is that?” Daisy could hear her guy friends going crazy! “Yeah. So hot!” “Wait! Is that Laurence?” The young lady at the door had short cropped hair in a pixie cut which suited her get up perfectly. Her face exuded a high and energetic spirit. Instead of the timid shy young girl, there stood Laurence, with bright eyes and a glowing face, completely different from before.   Laraine walked over to Daisy and handed over a box, “Here’s a gift for you!” Daisy was dumbfounded. When she opened the box, all her friends gathered around her.  “Oh my God, Daise! Is this the C limited edition bracelet?” Many people looked up at Laurence (well, Laraine) in surprise. Daisy took out the bracelet with a smile, “Oh my God Laurence! Thank you so much! You are the sweetest!”  Daisy said that on purpose, to make Laurence look good in front of her other friends. Knowing Laurence’s situation in the Jones family, she did not think Laurence could afford such an expensive bracelet and thought it might be a fake. To avoid Laurence being exposed, Daisy quickly closed the box. However, before she could do so, Laraine grabbed the box and took out the bracelet. She put it on Daisy. “Because you deserve the best!” In Laurence’s memory, Daisy was the one who treated her the best out of everyone.   Laurence was different today. Daisy could clearly see that. Usually, Laurence was like a timid little girl, acting more like a small child than a grown, confident eighteen-year-old woman.  Hearing Laurence’s words, Daisy blushed, “Oh come on, now you’re just joking!” Daisy replied and nudged Laraine playfully. Daisy looked at the bracelet carefully; to her shock, she found that it was real. How did Laurence get it? There was no way she had that much money!   “You must be Laurence. Nice to meet you Laurence!” A girl in a red dress came over and looked at Laurence with admiration. Laraine stayed still and looked at the girl warmly; however, her eyes turned cold when she realized who it was. She did not expect to meet Cathy Hill, Nathan’s sister, here. When she was in love with Nathan, Cathy had given her a hard time, saying that she was not good enough to be her sister-in-law. Whenever that happened, Nathan always took Cathy’s side when Laraine complained to him. But his sweet words would coax her out of her bad mood.   Sensing Laurence’s indifference towards her, Cathy slightly bristled but did not give up. Usually, Laurence did not dare to look at her. But now, she was outright ignoring her! This aroused Cathy’s competitiveness. So, she tried again. “Did you hear me, Laurence?” “Yeah.” Laraine peered at Cathy, took Daisy's hand, turned around and walked over to sit down on a sofa, once again ignoring Cathy.   Cathy stomped her feet angrily. She had never been treated this way before! This Laurence was outrageous! Daisy approached Laraine and whispered, “Do you have any problems with Cathy? You seem to hate her, do you?” “No, I don’t have a problem. I just don’t like such a hot-tempered girl.” “Yeah. I did not want to invite her. But my brother likes her. What can I do? A bunch of idiots, these boys are, I’m telling you!” Daisy complained.   Laraine sighed in annoyance when once again she saw Cathy walking over holding a glass of wine. Surprisingly, Laraine raised her eyebrows, “What’s this, Cathy?” “May I have the honor to propose a drink to you, Laurence?” Cathy said coquettishly. Her words made Laraine’s skin crawl. She stared at Cathy for a few moments, took the glass and drank a small sip. The reality was that seeing Cathy just now made Laraine emotional. She almost forgot that she was not Laraine but Laurence, a completely different person. Laraine closed her eyes and tried to forget the train of thought. She could not get emotional, not here, not now when all eyes were on her and Daisy. Laraine calmed down and realized that she could start her revenge from Cathy, who seemed quite interested in her.   Seeing Laurence take the glass of wine, Cathy happily sat down next to her. She took another glass from the waiter and handed it to Laurence, “Easy, you should not drink like this. Drink slowly so you can taste the grapes.” Daisy had to take care of her other guests so Laraine was now alone with Cathy and her friends.   Soon, Laurence was drunk. Gosh, that wine must have been really strong as she started to feel lightheaded. Cathy grabbed her arms and led her outside the villa to a waiting car. As soon as Laraine got into the car, Cathy climbed in, looked at Laraine hungrily and started feeling her breasts underneath her coat. Laraine almost stopped breathing and immediately sobered up. Seeing Cathy’s lips approaching, she turned her head to avoid meeting her lips, which then fell on the side of her face.   “What are you doing, Cathy?”
