Laraine started sweating. She looked at Patrick. How did he know?
What should she do?
Was she exposed?
Her life would be in danger if she were to be exposed!
“Laurence went out to hook up with a guy last night. I saw hickey marks on her neck!” Patrick sneered at Laurence.
Laurence froze and hurriedly covered her neck.
Although she acted nervously, she was relieved inside. No one knew who she really was. She was safe.
Andrew frowned, walked over and grabbed Laurence’s wrist, pulling her hand away.
It was the first time he had touched her wrist. It was so slim that he could break it with a little more strength.
The blue and red hickey marks stood out sharply on her pale wet skin.
“You’re only eighteen and you are already f*****g around?”
Andrew’s voice was unreadable.
Laraine felt the heat of his hand. Last night, he had clamped her wrists like this, trapping her with his strong body. She blushed as she remembered him penetrating her. Memories of pain and pleasure came flooding back.
How could she tell him that it was he who f****d her! Not the other way around!
Seeing Laurence look up at him angrily, Andrew was surprised. She usually spoke or walked submissively around Andrew so much so that he had not even seen her face clearly in a long time.
Andrew noticed that his adopted little sister was pretty, with a delicate nose and mouth and a pair of beautiful eyes.
The same beautiful eyes that now were staring up at him in anger. Normally, this would make Andrew angry, but it made him smirk.
“Neither of you can go out for two days. Stay at home and reflect on your immature behavior!”
Andrew then turned to the cook, “Make sure these two only get breakfast, no lunch and dinner!”
Can’t go out? Patrick got worried. He had dates with several girls over the next two days.
Patrick opened his mouth to argue when Andrew gave him a cold look, making Patrick immediately shut his mouth.
Laraine thought the punishment was no big deal. She used to be a star, a female actress; starving was normal for her body.
But Laraine forgot that this body was not hers.
Laurence’s body was young and hungry. She could not hold it out till the evening.
Oh, she was starving!
What a miserable life, Laraine thought! In novels, other people usually had a good life after they came back to life a second time. But why was God so cruel to her? She suffered last night and now she was grounded and starving.
Laraine took a deep breath and thought she did not want to die like this.
She was not allowed to go out, but she could go out of her bedroom. So, she sneaked out of her bedroom and crept downstairs like a thief.
Luckily, there was no one around.
She easily found the kitchen and the big refrigerator.
She opened it a crack and saw it full to the brim. Desperately, she took out a piece of cake, yogurt, and a ham sausage.
Then she crouched down in a corner, opened the food, and started to eat.
Desperately, she stuffed her stomach with food. She was so starved that she did not care about anything and just felt like eating the whole refrigerator.
Just then, Laraine felt footsteps coming towards the kitchen. Laraine quickly tried to hide the food and clambered to find a good hiding spot but found none in the pristine kitchen.
The kitchen light turned on.
Laraine smirked quickly thinking of an ingenious idea. Acting for her came naturally. Calmly, she stood up with a motionless look and a pair of empty eyes as if she were sleepwalking. Then, like a ghost, she walked past Andrew and his assistant and went upstairs.
The assistant was stunned, “Is she sleepwalking, sir?”
Andrew smacked his lighter on the table and looked at the stairs with a half-smile. "Probably!"
This little thing was getting more and more interesting.
Hearing that, the assistant was stupefied but did not dare to say anything else.
Though Andrew was smiling, his heart was pounding with anger. None of his siblings dared to defy him. Even if someone broke the rules while sleepwalking, they should be punished. Besides, Laurence did not look like she was sleepwalking.
Back in the bedroom, Laraine breathed a sigh of relief. She was not caught, was she? She was terribly lucky they had believed her act.
However, it was all worth it. She felt much better after eating. Laraine lay down on her bed, and began to think about the past events.
Gradually, she fell into a deep sleep.
The two days passed quickly. Compared with Laraine’s energetic mood, Patrick was sour and depressed.
“What happened to you? How come you are so happy with almost no food?” Patrick was furious when he saw Laurence, who looked much more energetic than he did.
“Fasting for two days helps to clear the body. Haven’t you heard of intermittent fasting? Why do you look so terrible? Did you perhaps eat secretly and stuff your face?” Laurence looked at Patrick with a smile.
When the servants heard this, they suddenly understood where the missing cake and yogurt had gone.
Patrick was mad but did not dare to throw another punch. He did not want to anger Andrew further. Besides, he had no strength to hit anyone.
Just then Marge ran down the stairs and blanched when she saw Patrick.
“s**t, you must be so hungry. All because of me!” Marge ran down the stairs like a butterfly, holding Patrick's arm guiltily.
“It has nothing to do with you, Marge. There’s someone else to blame.” Patrick sneered at Laraine and hit her arm as he passed by her.
Laurence could not do anything; she just sighed at the backs of her ‘loving’ siblings.
She knew what a hard life Laurence had here, and she felt sorry for her. At least she only had to deal with Tiffany!
Laraine walked to the kitchen and learned from the servants that there would be no dinner meal.
“Mr. Andrew won’t come back for dinner. Mr. Patrick and Miss Marge have gone out for dinner and asked us not to prepare any food.”
After saying that, the cook turned around and ignored Laraine going about her business.
“Should we not prepare dinner for her?”
“Why? She’s not a Jones. We were only told to follow the orders of the Jones.”
Laraine heard those words but pretended not to hear them because she knew that the servants did not regard her as a part of the family and nothing would change even if she argued with them.
Besides, she could cook herself. If she was not an actress in her last life, she would have been a good chef. Her friends all agreed that her cooking skills were great.
Laraine did not feel like cooking something extravagant, so she settled for vegetable soup and some pre-made garlic bread.
Soon, a delicious smell wafted out of the kitchen.
A luxury car stopped in front of the door, Andrew’s assistant got off and opened the door for Andrew, “Is the dinner ready?”
Hearing that, the cooks were shocked and started to sweat.
“Oh…um…I heard that Mr. Andrew won’t come back tonight, so…”
