14 Promise

Cathy immediately scrambled back from Laraine’s unconscious body and looked at Andrew’s cold face and shrunk in her seat.  When Laraine heard this name, she blearily mumbled, “Andrew, please help me…”    “Andrew! What a surprise! What…what are you doing here?” Cathy murmured in a lovely yet nervous tone. Seeing Laurence’s unconscious body on the seat and her half-opened shirt made his face become dark and foreboding instantly. He wanted to kill Cathy but he did not want to stoop to the level of her brother by hitting a female.   “Get her the f**k away from her,” Andrew’s cold voice was chilling as he ordered his bodyguards to take Cathy away from Laurence. “But…but I did not do anything! She came here herself on purpose!” Cathy yelled to no avail. The bodyguards roughly grabbed her and pushed her out of the room. Andrew walked closer to Laurence and took a sharp breath when he noticed a pill on Cathy’s seat. Picking up the drug, he noticed it was a common date rape drug. “f**k!” Andrew swore. When would the f*****g Hill family leave Laurence alone!?      It was obvious Laurence had been drugged; otherwise, she would have woken up from the commotion if she had been only sleeping. Her face was flushed, and he could see a sheen of sweat on her forehead, probably the side effects of the drug. She looked so innocent lying there. It reminded Andrew of the night she had come into his room and onto his bed. It had taken all his self-control to not touch her that night.       He carefully picked her up in his arms. He frowned when he noticed her body was hot as well as if she were getting a fever.        With her rising temperature, he became more serious, so he hurried into his waiting car. Andrew had immediately known something was wrong when Laurence left him at the door so abruptly. She had never gone out late before so Andrew guessed it must have been important. He managed to break into her phone and saw Cathy’s text messages. He immediately called his security guards and followed Laurence to where Cathy had called her. Andrew knew nothing good would come out of this situation so he hurried to the location before anything could happen.   “Hurry up,” Andrew ordered his driver. Laurence was leaning on his shoulder, but she was completely out of it. Her head was rolling back and forth, and her temperature seemed to rise. Andrew looked over worriedly when he heard her mumble; he could not make out what she was saying. It seemed she was in a delirious state.   When they reached home, Andrew immediately placed her in bed and gave her a medicine to combat the fever. Unfortunately the effects of the date rape drug would have to be flushed out of her system. She was not going to have a good next few days. He took off her socks and her thick hoodie leaving her only in a sweatshirt. Again, Andrew’s breaths quickened as the shirt rode up exposing her creamy and smooth stomach. He swallowed and slowly rubbed his hand over her navel but immediately stopped himself before he lost control. He did not want to take advantage of her like that while she was drugged.          He leant against the door trying to quash the strong impulse in his body. The urge was so strong, so he quickly walked over to his bedroom and into the shower. He would need to masturbate tonight to the thought of Laurence to calm his urges; otherwise he was going to lose control.    ________   Laraine felt like s**t the next morning. She groaned as she tried to remember what she had done last night to feel this way. Her head was pounding, and she felt extremely nauseous. She stood up to go the bathroom, but her muscles felt like jelly. She stumbled into the bathroom and looked at her face in the mirror. Gosh, she looked dreadful. Her hair was all messy, her eyes were bloodshot, and her face was pale and sweaty. She frowned and thought hard at what had happened last night, but she could not remember. All she remembered was…Oh! Cathy!   She remembered Cathy’s message and how she had gone to the hotel to meet her! What had happened after! She could not remember a single thing after that. Laraine groaned and went back to her bed feeling tired from standing only a few minutes. A twinge of fear went through her when she recalled meeting Cathy and what could have happened last night. How did she get home?   Laraine woke up next around noon. She felt somewhat better, but her head was still pounding, and she felt dizzy even when lying in her bed. A few minutes later, her door opened (had she not put on the chain lock last night!?) and Andrew walked in stoically. He took a seat opposite her bed and looked at her with un unreadable expression on his face. “How are you feeling?” “Um…fine.” Laraine replied feeling confused. “You certainly don’t look fine!”  “Well, I could be better…” Laraine started to talk but the sudden urge to puke overtook her. She scrambled out of bed and rushed to the bathroom, emptying what little contents of her stomach she had. When she came out of her bathroom, Andrew was standing by the door and looking at her with a frown on his face. “Here, take this,” he said while holding a pill in his palm. “It will help.” Laraine nodded and took it without question. She trusted Andrew now more than anyone and knew he would not harm her.   Andrew supported her back into bed helping her get covers up her body. “Do you know what happened last night?” He asked her. Laraine’s eyes widened. Did Andrew know? “Um…no…I don’t remember anything.” “You were drugged by Cathy last night when you went to meet her at the restaurant.” “What!” Laraine yelled. She had been drugged!? How did she not remember this!? “She gave you a roofie.” Laraine’s eyes widened. She did not think Cathy would stoop to that level. “But…but why?” Laraine asked herself more than anyone. “It was because she wanted to have s*x with you. I found her with her hand underneath your shirt.”   Laraine stilled and looked at Andrew with an indescribable expression. Her expression tugged at Andrew’s heart. It was one of hopelessness, desperation, fear, and uncertainty. Her eyes started to get teary and she quickly looked away not wanting to have a breakdown in front of Andrew of all people. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I thought…I thought she was going to…” Laraine trailed off. “You went because she threatened you to expose your secret?” “How do you know?” Laraine asked with wide eyes. “I had to tap your phone to see since I knew something was wrong. I read her text messages. What secret was she talking about?”   Laraine hurried to think of a good lie. “Um…actually I do not know either. I do not know what she was talking about but I…I got scared so I went…I’m sorry.” Laraine mumbled out. A tear slipped from her eye. She froze when she felt Andrew’s soft finger wipe the tear away. “Don’t apologize, it’s not your fault. But you should have told me. I would have helped you!” Andrew replied softly. Was he starting to have feelings for her? He had never felt this way about anyone before!   Laraine looked at Andrew with a soft expression. Ever since her ‘re-birth’ so many negative things had happened to her. She did not have anyone to talk to, no friends, no family, and no boyfriend. This was the first time someone was truly caring for her.   “Promise me, promise me if anything like that happens again, you are going to tell me,” Andrew urged Laraine softly. Laraine sniffed feeling more tears come into her eyes, “I promise.”
