Here's another chapter for you. And once again, thanks for reading.
Penelope
I was transfixed. Caught in a timeless moment Like a moth to a flame. At that point, nothing else mattered. It's like nothing else existed around me.
Only him. Alpha Lucian.
I watched as his wolf strode across the field. He usually held on to his powerful aura, but today he didn't. Everything about him roared with power. All of us exposed our necks to him as a sign of submission, acknowledging that he was our alpha.
His wolf surveyed to see if anyone would challenge it. And I felt like it called out to mine in a way that I couldn't understand. His wolf observed everyone sparring on the field.
He suddenly changed back to human form and was completely nude. But nudity was something we found to be common and most of us were not fazed by it. But in as much as I wasn't ready to see things, and before my eyes could deceive me, I turned to look away.
Luckily, I heard footsteps stomping on the ground and they stopped.
"Here are the shorts, Alpha."
Phew! Thanks for saving my innocent mind.
And when I looked back at him, he was wearing some cargo shorts. He suddenly looked at me and our eyes connected. The intensity in those sharp golden eyes was what forced me to look away. It was like he felt me starting the whole time.
I heard heavy footsteps coming my way, and before I knew it, his silhouette was at my feet. I stared from his feet, inching up to his chin before I finally decided to stand up from where I was seated.
He was way taller than me, so instead of standing face to face, we stood face to chest. He was closer than I excepted so I took a step back and stared at his face. He was even more handsome up close. The intense anger that showed on his face caught everyone off guard; he couldn't even hide it.
I looked away. If I continued, would it have meant that I was challenging him?
I caught a whiff of his musky earth scent. He smelled the same way he did yesterday when he held me. I couldn't get enough of it. The fact that he was shirtless made things worse for me. I was battling between looking away and looking at his shirtless form. I chose the latter. I was a risk-taker. The sunlight complemented his tanned skin.
Damn, this man is sexy as f**k.
I could feel my wolf perking up her ears, seemingly interested.
What is it, girl? Do you have a crush?
I know, I think I am crushing too.
I enjoyed speaking to my wolf even though I knew she wouldn't respond, as long as I knew she understood everything I said and what was happening around me. She was always present, watching quietly.
Alpha Lucian stilled for a while. He gritted his teeth, releasing a deep growl.
I wondered what clogged up his ass.
Oh s**t, I forgot.
I was ready to scramble away, till he blocked my escape route. He towered over me. I stopped in my tracks. Any plans I had completely vanished. I closed and opened my mouth like a fish.
I am so screwed!
"What! What the f**k are you doing here?" Alpha Lucian bellowed, his minty breath covering my face. He was fuming. He kept clenching and unclenching his fist.
"Uhh uhh uh" I was at a loss for words.
"Uh uh uh," he mocked, "f*****g answer the question, what are you doing here?" He tried to sound calmer, but he failed miserably.
"Alpha it's..."
"Stay out of this, Zayn," he snapped.
"I'm sorry, Alpha. I shouldn't have been here. " I felt like I was going to piss myself right there and then. I was shaking.
"But you were here when you knew it was illegal for ladies to attend training, and you're still here."
"I'm sorry alpha, it won't happen again, I won't do it again." I whimpered. Tears began to roll down my cheeks, and my vision was blaring.
From the corner of my eye, all activities ceased. Everyone gathered, but not close. They were cautious of the alpha. All attention shifted to us, the alpha and the warriors' daughter.
Why would anyone pass up such entertainment anyway?
I am sure everyone was curious. No one could guess the next course of action the alpha would take, even I wouldn't. He was an unpredictable man, after all.
"I will let you off with a warning, but next time this happens, the next time you cause any trouble, I won't be as forgiving as I am now."
Nodding my head, I ran off into the woods nearby.
He had embarrassed me, but I was wrong too. I knew what I did was against the rules, but I did it anyway. I took advantage of the fact that the others let me watch as long as the alpha didn't find out. And he was never at the training grounds, which was a surprise to everyone present.
I found a lake, the lake that Zayn and I loved to hang out at. I stood there and picked up a small oval rock and threw it over the lake, where I watched it bounce three times before finally going in. I threw another one and it did the same. Sighing I finally sat on one of the huge rocks. I gazed at the water. I liked the peaceful feeling it brought.
I thought of how the alpha still looked sexy even when he was angry. My heart is whipped, this crush is affecting me, and my wolf was calm even when he got mad.
Traitor, I thought you were supposed to be on my side.
I don't blame her. She wouldn't have stood a chance. She knew better.
I replayed how it felt when Alpha Lucian held me against his body. This time I was almost shaking from desire. Something different for a change.
I giggled.
Yep, I'm completely gone. Lost in the wilderness of desire, stupid Penelope for crushing on a cruel man like him.
Why couldn't I stop thinking about the encounter?
I could still feel his touch, the way I was engulfed by his sweet scent. His heat penetrated through my top. I licked my lips.
I wonder what those lips taste like. He's never kissed a lady.
Who am I kidding? Of course, he has kissed a girl before he looks like the bad boy type.
Stupid Penelope. That man was just trying to embarrass your ass.
I was a complete goner. And my wolf liked him too, which was weird because she never liked anyone.
I heard the crunch of leaves. I turned around and was faced with Zayn. I turned and looked back at the lake. I didn't even know what I could say. And I was a bit ashamed to look at him. He sat beside me on the rock.
"I am sorry about earlier," he broke the silence. He was staring at the side of my face while I stared at the lake.
"No, it's okay." I wore a small smile, hoping it would lighten his mood. I kept gazing at the lake.
" I would have done more. I would have defended you. I am the one who lets you watch. After all, it's partly my fault too. "
Finally looking at him, I inched closer to him and held his bare shoulder.
" It's okay, you don't have to worry about it anymore. I am seriously okay. " I assured him, but instead he scowled, not convinced.
"If you say so," he sighed.
"You finished practice early." I voiced my thoughts out loud.
"Yeah... after everything, he let us rest. It was all thanks to you, Pen, "he teased.
I smacked his arm. I knew he was messing with me at the same time, trying to enlighten the gloomy mood.
I let out a giggle. I picked up another rock and threw it over the lake, only this time it bounced four times. This should be my talent.
"Is that a challenge?" Zayn inquired, clearly amused.
" What do you think, loser? " I stuck my tongue out to him.
That seemed to bruise his ego.
"You are on!"
We kept up the challenge till the sun was setting. He completely failed to beat my high score of five. And I kept laughing and mocking him as I did happy dances.
"You keep cheating; there is no way I would lose," he whined as he stomped his feet on the ground like a little kid.
I rolled my eyes, giving him a subtle smile. I found his whole tantrum adorable.
"Of course, you would say that, but we both know you aren't just better than me. " I smirked, quirking my eyebrows to mock him over his losses.
"f**k it", he threw his hands up in the air.
I said, "You've just won for now." I couldn't help myself and burst out laughing.
