Celia POV
His touch was addictive. I could not get his perfect, muscular body out of my mind.
It was not like me to think this way or even trust someone. I've never met a person I could trust. My mind must be playing tricks on me. Why would this perfect guy go to such lengths to free me? I thought to myself.
"It's because he is our mate," Stormy whispered in my head.
I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to quell my negative thoughts.
"Celia, he said he loves us. Caius will come back," My wolf tried to calm me.
I could hear the faint sound of machines as my vision temporarily flickered.
"Stormy, something is happening," I said with a hint of concern.
"Celia, they are trying to figure out why the wolfsbane is wearing off quickly. They are getting suspicious," Stormy said after listening to what was happening in the real world.
"What are they doing, Stormy? I feel weird," I said, concerned.
"Celia, this is going to hurt really bad, but we will survive this," Stormy howled.
"Survive what?" I demanded.
My entire body flooded with intense pain as I hunched over. I started to cough, and the same metallic taste I experienced during the crash filled my mouth.
"What the f**k was that?” I hissed in shock.
"Celia, you have to trust me; we will survive this. You can't let Caius touch you or let the bond heal us. I promise they want us alive; they won't let us die," Stormy ordered.
I started to cough as I felt myself getting weaker. I moved my hand over the center of the pain and realized my shirt was soaked in blood.
"What the f**k? They stabbed us," I said, holding my hand over the gushing wound. "Why can I see the injury in my dream?" I whispered as my energy started to deplete.
"Stormy, why aren't you talking to me," I demanded.
"Caius can't touch us, Celia. You are going to have to hide this from him if he comes. They are on to us. We must heal on our own. Caius will sense the silver in us. Tell him I said we are special, we will heal, and to find us fast," Stormy said as she faded away.
I had no idea what my wolf was even talking about. I had to trust her.
"I won't let him touch me," I whispered, even though I knew she was gone for the time being.
I pulled myself to the bathroom in the cabin and lifted my shirt, revealing the wound. The blood was now slowing, but it almost looked infected. I coughed, and a blood splatter hit the sink as I looked at myself in the mirror.
"What did Stormy mean about silver? Did they stab me with it?" I asked myself silently.
I pulled on a new shirt and locked myself in the bathroom. It was the only room with a lock. I would keep my promise to Stormy. I slid down against the wall as pain radiated throughout my whole body. The pain was overwhelming, causing me to let out a small scream.
I heard footsteps pounding at a fast pace toward me.
"Celia," Caius yelled my name frantically. He must have heard me scream. I had to stay locked in here. I could not allow him to touch or help me.
The doorknob jiggled as he tried to enter the bathroom. "Celia, are you in there?" He asked.
"Yes, I am but don't come in," I responded, trying not to sound weak. My body had different ideas as I coughed up more blood.
"Why can't I come in? You don't sound ok," He says worriedly.
"I'll be ok," I yelped as another wave of pain filled my body.
"I'm coming in," he demanded.
"No, you can't." I pleaded.
"Celia, why can't I see you?" He asked, begging.
"Caius, Stormy said you can't touch us. They are on to us. If I let you in, you must promise you won't touch me, no matter what," I said.
"Ok, I won't touch you; please just let me see you," He responded through the door.
"Ok, I'll unlock the door, but wait for me to say ok," I said as I pulled myself up. "f**k," I hissed as I fought through the pain.
I moved to the furthest corner of the bathroom and leaned against the wall. “Ok, you can open the door, but don't come near me," I said in a weak voice.
Caius pushed the door open and sat in the doorway facing me. "Celia, tell me what's wrong. I can sense you are not ok," he said in a soft voice.
"Stormy said they are on to us. They want to know why the wolfsbane wears off so fast. You can't touch me, or they might find out, " I said before another slight coughing fit hit me.
Caius jolted up when he saw the blood on my mouth.
"You’re hurt," he said in a pained voice.
"Stormy said we will survive this, that you can't touch us no matter what. She said you can sense the silver, but we will be ok,” I whispered.
"Silver," Caius snapped. "Celia, show me what they did to you," he demanded.
I slowly lifted my shirt, exposing the area they stabbed me.
"f**k, they stabbed you with silver," he growled. "I'm going to come closer, but I won't touch you," he muttered. Caius came close enough to inspect my injury without touching me. I could see the pained expression in his eyes.
I balled my fists as another wave of pain rolled over me. “Stormy said you have to find us now,” I whimpered.
"Silver, wake us up," Caius growled.
"I'm coming for you, Celia; please hold on," he said as his body vanished.
"I'll wait," I whispered.
