While Brillcart was effectively dodging the law and setting up a new base of operations in a less pleasant environment than he had in the past, Bibi Wolfe Lynx and her long time friend, partner, and skilled investigator, Jean Groff, were on a somewhat parallel path. Quietly and with very little exposure within the Europol network, they undertook a highly confidential and risky assignment: to once again try and infiltrate The System in order to expose Brillcart’s location. They did so not without considerable trepidation, because previous similar efforts had not gone as planned and each time Bibi and Jean narrowly escaped an unpleasant demise.
