My heart hurt as I walked towards our bedroom. I just wanted to be alone. To be with my thoughts. I felt that Zack and I had taken a turn for the better last night, and now today we are back to square one. It hurt to know that he had been talking about me. It might not have hurt so much if it had just been Connor and Jack. Brittany knowing anything about us felt like a betrayal.
I slowly started to shut the door when I heard someone call out to Zack. “Alpha, I need a word with you,” an unfamiliar voice said. “I am in the middle of something right now, Elder,” I heard Zack respond tersely. “This cannot wait,” the Elder responded. “What?” Zack asked impatiently.
