“Warwick’s sister, Lady Margaret, is now staying with me and needs to be married this year in order to fulfill the dictates of her father’s will,” the duchess put forward.
“Really?” Lady Moreton looked with curiosity at the duchess.
“Yes. Sadly, her father insisted she marry by the time she was twenty or else she would lose her inheritance. Since Warwick is now rather pre-occupied with his new wife, and Tina with learning how to be a duchess, we felt it would be easier if I took over chaperoning the girl. And of course, it’s much easier for her to just stay with me,” the duchess said.
