CHAPTER FOUR Dakota stretched, rubbing at her neck and wincing as she pushed out of the taxi which had taken them from the airport. The heat instantly assaulted her. She winced, shifting uncomfortably in her chosen long-sleeve shirt. "I guess Carter made a mistake with scheduling," Marcus said as he followed out the back of the taxi, having retrieved his credit card from the driver. The yellow vehicle turned away from the parking lot, drove across two sets of painted white lines, and moved back towards the main highway. Dakota watched it leave, curious, but then shot a look back towards her partner. "How do you mean?" "She said someone was going to pick us up."
