After Owen left with Mrs. Cotton we had to have a new meeting with the school staff. Fortunately, none of the teachers had had time to leave. We quickly gathered everyone back in the conference room. Lily’s hand never left mine the entire time. Some of the teachers gave us weird glances as if to ask why Lily was with at the meeting.
When we however told the rest of the teachers about everything that Lily and Owen told us, no one could speak one word.
Principal Wild scolded Mrs. Heartly after she rudely said that Owen is damaged and still should be in a special needs class. He said that Owen is not damaged, that he is a bright young boy with a troubled past but that it doesn't mean he is a troubled boy.
