Prologue
Ana
I'm sick of sitting on this plane now. On the way to Gran Canaria, it was fine. Now there are too many children screaming and chasing each other in the aisle between the seats. It's frustrating.
My little sister Lilian is sitting between me and our father. Our mother is sitting beside dad. We're both sitting on the sides. It's a big plane. Two isles, with a row with four seats in the middle and two-seat placed by the windows. My family is in the middle seats.
In the seats in front of us is a blond family. Seriously, they're all blonds. I can only see the back of their heads, but they're all blonds. The mother, the father, and the three boys. Behind us is a very loud family. Two small kids who are screaming, one teenager who complains about the fact that she hasn't seen her boyfriend in two weeks, and two parents who are trying to get them all to shut up.
"Ana, can I take what's left of your coke?" Lily asks and nudges my shoulder.
"Yeah sure", I say.
She takes it and drinks it as she watches her movie. She's watching Frozen. I can hear the song Let it go play through her headphones.
"I'm just going to go and pee", I mumble quietly to my father who nods.
But when I stand up and look down the aisle I see that the line is pretty long.
I sigh and walk to stand in the line. Why do so many people have to go to the bathroom at the same time?
"I don't know, maybe they all wait for the right time", I hear a chuckle behind me.
I frown and turn around. A boy about my age is standing there, with beautifully muscular arms and broad shoulders. He has piercing bright green-blue. My god, this boy is hot!
"Huh?" I ask confused.
"Oh I just answered your question", he says.
"My...?" I say but I interrupt myself as it dawns on me. "Wait, did I say that out loud?"
He chuckles. ”Yes, yes you did", he says. I feel my face heat up and I mentally curse myself. ”I’m James", he says and reaches me his hand.
I hesitate for a few seconds before I reach out my hand and grab his. ”Liana", I say.
"Very nice to meet you Liana", James says and smiles big.
Suddenly I feel like I've seen this boy before. ”Where in Gran Canaria were you?" I ask.
"Amadores", he answers. "You?"
"Same", I say. "I've must have passed you before because you do seem familiar".
"Yeah, maybe, it's pretty small so we might have passed each other at some point", James says.
I nod. The line takes forever. What are the people doing in the tiny tiny bathroom? Seriously!
"So where are you from?" James asks.
"Atlanta", I answer. "You?"
"Philadelphia", he answers.
This plane takes us to New York, and then we'll take another plane, which will take us to Atlanta. It's about a two-hour flight more or less. I guess James family will just take the team or something, it's a little more than an hour.
It's frustrating that we have to change the plane and that it takes so long to come home again, but it's worth it. It was amazing in Gran Canaria. We stayed at a hotel called Serenity, it's on the mountain so to get down to the Amadores Beach you have to walk down the mountain but it was always so warm and amazing. And then we took a cab back up. It didn't cost much at all.
And the beach was amazing. The sand never got hot. It's like crushed seashells in the sand that prevents the sand from ever getting too warm I think. Oh and the beach restaurants and beach stores and oh it was all so amazing.
I have to go back. It's easily my favorite place in the world now.
"Liana!"
Someone is waving a hand in front of me. James.
"Huh?" I look at him.
He points at the empty bathroom. Wow, how long was I in my thoughts?
I walk in and do what I have to do before I walk out.
When I come out I see that the other bathroom had to be empty because James is no longer out there.
I shrug and walk back to my seat. When I pass the family in front of us, is see that one of the seats are empty. Is this James’ family. I look at them without staring, that would be creepy. But yeah, he's a copy of the two older boys.
I sit down. I see how James walks down the aisle to his seat. His t-shirt licked against his muscular body. I can see his abs through the t-shirt. His shorts showing off perfectly shaped legs with the perfect amount of blonde hair.
Oh my god, he's hot! He winks at me before sitting down on his seat right in front of me.
I can feel my face heat up again. Oh god.
Oh well, it's not like I'm going to see this boy ever again. I mean what would be the odds of that? He's just a hot guy on an airplane and I'm just a girl. This happens every day I’m sure.
There's still a few hours left of the flight. Maybe I can make some fun of it, I think before I tap James on his shoulder and he turns around to me smiling.
