Chapter 4
The door opened silently. Proof that someone had been taking care of it in her neglect. Another thing she was ashamed of herself for. Her mother loved this cabin, and Rachel had just left it to the elements, unable to be here. At least someone had cared enough. Adam said Ashley and Brad had stayed here. Maybe others had too.
She rushed inside and slammed the door shut, blocking out the cold and snow. She took a deep breath calming her racing heart. She still couldn't believe she was back. It felt surreal. A place she swore she would never come back to, and now she was trapped here with a snowstorm. Who knew if the snow would ever stop? From the sounds of the storm, it was far from done. She wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t snow another foot or two until morning. She'd be luck
