Chapter 18
Adam watched Rachel march up the stairs. He was so frustrated he debated punching the wall but changed his mind. Bone and concrete didn't go well together. He wanted to call her back, but he didn't know what to say that hadn't already been said. He was pushing her away to keep her safe. Several times already, he had dropped his guard. He hadn't realized anything was wrong with the house until the lights were turned on. Had he been more focused he would have realized something was wrong and not lead Rachel into what could have been a trap.
