It had been a lonely life for the past five years, but the alternative was out of the question. Now knowing what her father was capable of confirmed how right her decision had been. To think of the horrors that poor woman went through because of her father, and who knew how many before that. The years had obviously made him crueler. She didn't think that was possible.
She could still remember that day her father had come to her apartment in Portland. Ashley had been out on a date with Brad, so she'd been home alone. Looking back, she wouldn't be surprised if her father had been watching her or have someone spy on her. Had probably known about her crush on Adam and that's why he took him under his wing.
