Something is off about her. The way she walked away and her seemingly sudden attitude change came as a shock to me. Also, were her ears red? Was it really so unbelievable that I could compliment her?
Perhaps it was. I remember our first interaction and the meetings we had after. They were not as pleasant as I would have wanted. I needed to present myself better.
Old habits die hard and, for the life of me, I see her and remember my friend from so long ago who was very much like her. I remember teasing my friend, watching how she grew and came into her own with some taunts of her own.
