The guilt lifted from John’s shoulders when a few weeks went by, and after two months from the incident with Jason’s wrist, he was able to let it go.
It had taken about that long to heal. John had insisted his lover wear the ace bandage for three weeks, because the swelling had caused Jason’s wrist to almost double in girth, and once that had gone down, the bruises had taken weeks to fade. Once there was nothing but unblemished skin, he felt better. He was also more careful and aware when they were intimate, so there wasn’t a repeat. Honestly, his heart couldn’t take the damage he’d done to the love of his life.
