Chapter Fifteen: Changing Appearance

Before the inspector reach the bar, Vic had gotten there by entering a taxi.

His teleporting skill can not work on places he hadn't been to before. He's never been to the bar, so he boarded a taxi, not without taking Melody with him. She will help with his plans. They first changed their appearances into that of an official people and they soon left the room given to them.

"This is my plan." Vic said as they were on their way to the bar, he communicated using his mind link skill. To prevent the taxi driver from hearing their discussions. "You will use my magic powers and change my appearance into a bar attendant."

Melody brought out a note and write some words into it.

"Won't the other attendants know that you are a fake?" she showed the words to Vic.

"Good question, I will make the bar attendant pass out for a few minutes. During that time, you'll change my appearance and I'll move on to the next step by carrying out my plans!" Vic said.

"What are the plans?" Melody asked and Vic showed her a recording device.

"I saw this device in the auction house, it was hidden beneath the ground. I found it when I was fighting with the blood Vampire." replied Vic. "With this, I can get every piece of information I want."

"I do hope your plans works out." Melody wrote to Vic, and the taxi halted.

"What we need to do is to make this process go on as fast as possible."

What he meant was that before the two; Inspector and Ma'am Grace start their secret discussions, he need to have infused the recording device under the table.

"Let's just hope we're not too slow in action."

"That will be two stones." The taxi driver said.

Vic brought out five stones from the five thousand stones he had received from the basketball betting ring.

"Here, this is twenty stones." Vic handed the money to the taxi driver, as they left for the entrance of the bar.

"Thanks a lot buddy, If you need me next time my name is John Speed! ask anyone around, they all know me. You can reach me on Webcaller phone, ID 3125." The taxi driver shouted before Vic could enter the bar.

Vic gave him a sign of ' I got it ', and he and melody entered the bar.

"Why did you give him that much money?" Melody asked.

"Ever since I've seen the inspector's past life and experience, I felt so indebted to help human beings. The hardship humans face, I've never experienced such in my life. The only thing I know that had caused a conflict between I and someone was the fight for position that occurs among students. But I always manage to come out unharmed."

Vic said and as he sat down on a seat with Melody, he saw the inspector coming in, into the bar. He went to a seat that was at the corner of the bar, and sat there. But he was soon seen having a call.

"He was also a taxi driver before he was imprisoned and was later freed. But he joined the police force." Vic replied.

"Let's carry out the plan as fast as we could!" Vic said to melody as he approached the bar man, "Please, where is your restroom?"

"It's right over there man!" he replied.

A tag was placed on his shirt, displaying his name.

'Hank Lorraine, nice name' Vic thought and he head on to the restroom with Melody.

"Just stay here, I'll be back soon." he said.

"Are you crazy? why will I stay in a men's restroom, what if someone sees me standing here." she want to say but cautioned herself, cause there might be someone around listening.

"I know you don't like it, but I'll advise you to use your invisibility powers." Vic said noticing the worried look on her face.

"Shhhh, what if they hear you?" She was furious.

"There's no one in and you should make sure no one else comes in apart from me!" And he left the restroom.

After leaving the restroom, he went straight to meet the bar attendant, Hank, who was busy mixing some items.

"Hey, can you spare me some minutes from your time!" Vic said pretending to bring out something in his pocket. "I have something private to discuss with you!"

"Sure, let's go." Hank agreed, thinking it might be something really important. "Perhaps today is my lucky day, I won't be going home empty handed." he concluded.

Vic directed him to the restroom.

"The restroom??" Hank was confused.

"There are no better place where we can discuss the matter, so the only place we can use is here. Or you got an idea of somewhere we could go?" Vic asked, and Hank nodded negatively and finally agreed with his opinion.

'Melody, I'm coming in, don't attack me. I repeat, don't try to attack me, or you're going to ruin all our plans.' Vic sent the message to melody using his mind link skill.

"Can you please shut the door behind you!" Vic asked him as they entered the restroom.

The man turned around and went to close the door.

'Activate light alter skill'

'Yes, I know already.' Vic said to the system.

The bar attendant who was at the door fell down the floor unconscious.

"What is that?!" Melody asked.

"One of my skill, my very first skill." he answered. "Quick, we have ten minutes till he wakes up. Alter the appearance, and make me look like him."

She cast her magic spells and Vic was now what we could call the bar attendant, Hank Lorraine.

But, there was a disadvantage, Vic can't speak the way Hank does. Hank had a deep Masculine voice, but Vic's voice is gentle and a little bit, soft Voice. Not too deep, not too soft.

"What do you mean by attacking you the other time. Do you really think I will attack you?" Melody asked.

"Maybe!!" Vic answered.

"Seriously." she replied.

After she had altered his appearance by replacing it with Hank's appearance, Vic collected the recording device that he had hidden with Melody using her invisibility cloak powers on the device, and left the restroom. Upon entering the reception, a female attendant called on him, or preferably, Hank.

"Hank, where have you been, I've been looking for you since. Anyway, where's the condensed milk and whipping cream you will be adding to the mixed liquid here." she said pointing at the liquid that the real Hank had been mixing before leaving for the restroom with Vic a while ago.

"errrr...." in his usual voice but he tried to imitate the real Hank's voice, "I'll bring it over here now"

"What's wrong with him, didn't he said he will do this as a free gift for all the customers, this is half past six and he's still roaming about." The female attendant said to herself, but was quickly called to attend to a customer.

'Now, all I have to do is to place this device under the table.' Vic thought, preparing to approach the inspector who was still waiting for Ma'am Grace's arrival. 'But it would be hard to do such a thing in front of a cop that knows about this device. What do I do?" He checked the time and it was already six thirty, yet, ma'am Grace has not arrive.

He would've tell Melody to use her invisibility skill, but from what he had learnt from the inspector's past, he had an ability that can see any kind of aura. If she were to use her invisibility skill, the inspector would have known already.

"What could have happened?" the inspector was wondering. "But I told her to meet me by Six."

'Hey, I've got an idea.' Vic thought and went to approach the inspector. He have six minutes left until the skill could deactivate.

"Hello sir, I think someone is outside asking of you. It was a female, but she wasn't entering. So I thought that perhaps she's looking for you."

"Oh thanks, it might be the person I'm waiting for." and the inspector went towards the bar door and he exited the bar.

In an instance, Vic now had the recording device perfectly hidden under the table, he activated it and it will record everything they say. He went inside the restroom, because presently, the deactivation time is four minutes left.

Melody cancelled her altering skill and was about to change Vic back to his former appearance of an official,but Vic told her to use another appearance. He don't want any disturbance from the bar attender. She agreed and changed Vic's appearance Into that of a young handsome man.

Melody changed hers also, to prevent the glares and frightened look she's been getting from people. It was as if they were scared of her, thinking that she was some kind of an official. So she changed her appearance into that of a beautiful lady, that almost looked similar to Vic's appearance.

After all their physical appearances had been changed, Vic checked the time and discovered that it remained exactly a minute for the skill

to deactivate.

He went out of the restroom with Melody and they both took a seat close to where the inspector is. The inspector was back on his seat, frustrated.

The recording device is connected to Vic's phone, giving him an opportunity to listen at whatever it's being said at the very moment

In the restroom, Hank had woken up from his unconsciousness. He felt his head aching badly. But as he tried to stand up, he noticed a bag of money tied to the side of his belt. He checked and counted it, and immediately, his headache flew off.
