{Veryn’s POV} (Reader Discretion Advised. This chapter talks about depression, alcoholism, and ptsd from S/A, and domestic violence.) After Dayus left with Celeste’s plate, I felt worse by the minute. I figured if she was nice enough to make dinner for us, that I should at least apologize. I made my way up the stairs, and into the doorway. I leaned in slowly and spoke softly. “Hey..” I said peering in. Then I saw them, Dayus had Celeste’s palm in his mouth, gulping down her blood. Her body was shaking, she could barely even stand up. “What the he** Day!” I shouted, running across the room and punching him as hard as I could. I watched as his body crumbled, and he rolled across the floor slamming into the wall with a loud thud. He groaned, and before he had the chance to move, I grabbed him up, throwing him out of the room and shutting and locking it behind him. I stood, panting heavily, he knew that we aren’t meant to drink blood from anyone in the house.. it was the only real rule that Marnie set for us. “Veryn..” I heard Celeste’s voice weakly behind me, I turned and saw her, really saw her. Her shirt was disheveled, half of it unbuttoned, revealing her large breasts in her black lace bra. Her short shorts gripped her thick thighs as she knelt on the floor on her knees. Her dark, curly hair laid around her, almost covering her like a blanket. Her hand was still bleeding, she held it tightly against her chest, smearing the blood across it. “Dam***!” I hissed, crossing the floor, and closing the distance between us. “W-We need to get that cleaned up, now!” I said, lifting her to my chest bridal style. She was light, lighter than I had thought she’d be. I carried her into her bathroom, and turned on the water faucet. I shoved her hand under it, and rinsed it properly. Once all the blood was off her hand, I grabbed the bandages under the sink and wrapped it tightly. I grabbed a rag, wetting it down, and without thinking began washing the blood off her chest. Though, the more I rubbed, the more it just smeared across her chest. “Da****!” I groaned, trying to get it off. “Can you take a shower right now?” I asked, looking down at her. Her breath smelled heavily of whiskey, and her whole body swayed back and forth. She shook her head, before reaching out and grabbing both of my forearms. “I-I’m dizzy.. sh**!” She muttered under her breath. “I’ll be fine.. just go on and eat your food, I’m just going to go to bed.” She mumbled, pushing herself off the counter and onto the floor. As her feet touched the ground, I could tell what was happening. She had lost too much blood, she immediately fell, but I caught her bringing her to my chest. I carried her back into her bedroom and laid her in her bed. I groaned, knowing that there was only one thing I could do. I rolled up the sleeve of my white button up shirt, and bit down into my wrist, before holding it over her mouth. I pushed my skin against her lips, and allowed my blood to drip into her mouth. “You have to drink it..” I said, watching her eyes go wide. She tried to move away, but I kept a firm hold on her. “No!” I could hear her muffled mutter against my arm. “I’m sorry Celeste, but if you don’t, you may not wake up in the morning! Dayus drank too much of your blood, you need to get some of my blood into your system, it will help heal you!” I said, more sternly now. She managed to push my arm out of the way and cried out. “Who says I want to wake up in the morning?” Her voice was hoarse, breaking more and more by the second. “I can’t do this anymore.. the only thing keeping me going was to come back home to her, and make her proud of me.. she’s gone, so what’s the point?” She shouted, wiping my blood from her lips. “You men, you always think that you get to decide what a woman wants! Go, get out!” She yelled, as she tried to stand up, but instead fell to the ground on her knees. “Celeste.. I promise you’ll feel better in the morning, just let me help you!” I pleaded, bitterness rising in my chest. I was angry at myself for being so awful to her, she seems like she has a lot going on. I shouldn’t have been so cruel to her. “I’m sorry about what I said.. I shouldn’t have said any of it. I was just angry, I thought that you were just being selfish..” I said, sitting in the floor beside her. “I was selfish.. and because of that, I lost everything. My life, isn’t worth living anymore, and honestly, I can’t bring myself to face another morning hungover, or otherwise. Just..” she started, before stopping herself. She grabbed the bandage around her hand and pulled it off, biting back down into her hand. She crawled up, straddling one of my thighs, and placed her hand to my mouth. “Just make the pain stop.. please..” she whimpered, tears pouring from her eyes as her blood touched my lips, dripping down my chin. It smelled amazing, intoxicating, delicious. I grabbed her arm, pushing it away from me. “N-No! Stop Celeste! You have to..” I started, but she interrupted me. “Just do it! I can’t do this anymore, just make it stop! Please, make it stop!” She cried, before falling to the side, her body going completely limp. She had fainted, she fell onto my other leg, landing between my legs. I lifted her up and sighed, I knew that I had to do, but it didn’t make it any easier. I bit back down into my wrist, taking my blood into my mouth. I lifted her in my arms, pulling her head closer to me, I looked over her face, she must have gone through more than she’s telling us, otherwise I don’t think she’d be this miserable. I tilted her chin up, and placed my lips softly to her, forcing my blood into her mouth. I made sure that she drank down the mouthful that I had, and when that was done I pulled back, licking my blood from her lips. Her eyes fluttered open, as she sat up her hands falling to my chest. “W-What happened?” She asked, but I knew it was better to not clear things up for now. “You fainted, let’s get you to bed.” I said, lifting her in my arms and placing her gently in her bed. I grabbed some more bandages from the bathroom, wrapping her hand back up carefully. “I’m sorry..” she whispered, her eyes fluttering opened and closed. “I’m sorry nana, I should have listened.. he wasn’t a good person.. you were right..” she muttered, closing her eyes and slipping into sleep. I pulled her blanket up, tucking her softly into bed. “She forgave you a long time ago.” I whispered, before turning and walking out into the hallway. I sighed when I saw Dayus in the floor beside her door. “You know the rules Day. Make sure you follow them from now on.” I shot at him, turning and making my way back to our part of the house.
