She had closed the front door behind her, and I strolled to the car.
An unsettling feeling passed through my mind, like the cold winter breeze crawling on my skin, making me shiver. I checked my phone and only realised that it was off. Switching it on, the red light blinked, and it went dead. I let out a long, drawn-out breath, resting my head on the headrest, deep in thought.
‘Are you okay?’ Dutch asked, sensing my internal battle.
‘I am thinking of going to the bar and drinking myself into oblivion.’ I sighed, ready to drive.
