Kai's POV
It has been four days since we said goodbye to our only daughter, our only living pup.
Saying goodbye to her was the hardest thing for Annunziata and me.
It was worse for Laila because she had just got her as her sister.
Sighing, I wrapped my mate in my arms, kissing her forehead. Tingles erupted where my lips met her skin. She stirred in her sleep with a delighted moan.
I gazed through the darkness, letting my thoughts wander to the past. The only sound in the room was Annunziata’s soft snores.
When I met her, she was feisty like Wilona and very determined, but had calmness. We mated two weeks after she finally succumbed to our sacred bond. She conceived immediately, but we were fortunate because it was the end of the year preparing graduation ceremony at school.
