KATIE.
“If this is how you love Tyson, then you’re completely doing it wrong.”
He frowned and took a step closer, but I took mine backward, “Come in Katie, stop acting like a child. How do you think I survived for the past six months waiting for you.” His words angered me more. He was practically telling me to my face that he had been cheating for so long.
“Hell, Tyson, I thought you were okay with this. I thought you were touching yourself and giving yourself the satisfaction and pleasure you need until I’m ready, but guessed I thought wrong. You were always going after everything with a skirt and I looked over that thinking that you wouldn’t betray me like them, but guess the saying will always be true all men are scum.” She lashed out at him.
Tyson took a step back and used his hand to push his white-ish hair back before speaking.
“I can see you are ready now.” He suddenly said, lowly. Calmly, like he wasn’t the one yelling at me just now.
My brows furrowed as I looked at him,
“What the f**k are you talking about?” I asked, folding my hands across my chest.
“Listen to me Katie, if…if you are ready, trust me I’m done looking for anyone else. I only did this to pass the time until you were ready, and I can see that now, trust me I won’t look for anyone again.” He said almost too happily for my liking.
God, if it was old times when I was growing my tantrums and feeling dejected, I would have gladly rushed into his arms and cried my eyes out. But then my eyes connected with the b***h, who was putting on one of Tyson’s shirts, and that just walked out of his room and my anger flared up.
“I swear to any god that you know, Tyson, if just a single hair on your body touches me, trust me I will chop your balls off and give you to eat,” I warned, low and hard.
Tyson froze, and he quickly took his hand to his little man down there to cover it up.
Like that was going to stop me, I sneered.
“Listen to me Tyson, I don’t want to see your revolting face, hear your annoying voice or even see you close to my house door steps. I don’t know what I am going to do if I see you.” He gulped but didn’t say anything.
This was my cue to leave, and I held the doorknob with shaky fingers. I feel so pathetic, thinking he was the one. The one who was going to be my husband.
“Don’t do this Katie, you have no one but me, remember.” My shoulder shook when he said that. Of course, I had no one, he was the only thing I had in my life, but now he was gone.
“I would rather have nothing than have you in my life, Tyson.” With that, I stormed out of his apartment.
Immediately the door closed, and I was sure he wasn’t coming for me, I leaned on the wall choking on my tears.
My legs failed me as I tried walking towards the elevator, I wasn’t going to embarrass myself here while those two fuckers are in there having the best time of their lives.
My shaky legs carried me to the elevator and no matter how much I tried wiping the tears off my face, it just kept pouring out. I pressed the button, but luckily for me, nobody was in it to see my tear-stricken face. I leaned on the elevator wall and couldn’t help but release a sigh of relief when the door opened.
I walked past the shocked-looking doorman and winced when his facial expression changed to one of pity.
They knew. My stomach turned.
I walked out of the building with shaky legs and didn’t wait for a taxi to come by, I didn’t even have the money to pay for one to begin with. I had spent my last money on the dinner I had this night and the gift and lingerie I bought for that fucker. All of my salary was gone, and I needed to wait for the upper month before getting another.
Lost in thoughts and wallowing in my tears, I didn’t look at where I was going and the next thing I heard was people screaming and some letting out curses and then a loud screech.
Screech….
I raised my head to see a car just an inch from me, my hand covered my eyes from the bright light that was coming from the car, and since my shaky legs couldn’t hold me up again. I fell to the ground, god, I didn’t even know when I entered the road.
‘Is this how little you love your life, Kat? You almost got yourself killed.’
I stayed there without moving and the next thing I heard was rushing footsteps, a figure knelt beside me and touched my hand gently.
“Hey, are you alright?” The manly voice asked, and I released all my pent-up emotion. I cried I cried loudly, so the whole world could hear me. I cried so much that I couldn’t hear what the mister was saying.
“Hey, are you hurt anywhere?” He asked.
I chuckled sadly, one would think I was hurt because of how hard I was crying. My mind was so clouded with the thought of Tyson that I totally forgot that I almost got killed.
My head snapped towards the man kneeling beside me in the middle of the road, and for a moment, I froze. The words that were intended to spill from my mouth hung in there, I couldn’t find my tongue to speak. This man beside me was a true distraction, he was too handsome to be this caring.
I snorted, Tyson was also handsome and what did I gain from it; him cheating? With that anger, I pushed the man’s hand on my body and crawled backward.
“Stop touching me, you pervert!” I yelled at him, startling him and myself.
I quickly regained my strength and got up.
The man also got up slowly as he looked at me worriedly, “Are you sure you’re fine, miss? I can take you to the hospital and get you checked up.” He suggested and I sniffed.
‘Rich people, constantly trying to flaunt their money in our faces.’ I whispered to myself.
“I’m not rich miss, but I’m a doctor and can check if you are fine, that’s if you agree.” He remarked, and my cheeks burned when he said that.
He heard me, well, that’s his business for eavesdropping on someone’s words.
“You almost ran me over, mister.” I stared accusingly at him.
He gasped, and his face hardened, “you were the one who wasn’t looking at where she was going to miss.” He snapped back, and I scoffed, folding my hand under my boobs as I glared defiantly at him.
“If you were watching where you are going, this wouldn’t have happened. I wouldn’t have been almost run over if you had stopped your car on time.” I said.
I knew I was saying rubbish and being inconsiderate instead of apologizing, but I needed someone or something I could vent my anger and frustration and this fine-looking man here just happened to be my target.
“I will also say the same thing to you, miss, you weren’t looking at where you were going, and you entered the road without watching the traffic signs.” He yelled and a loud honk from the cars behind drew our attention.
“Five more minutes.” The kind man said and raised his five fingers In case they didn’t hear him.
“You are supposed to be apologizing, miss, and not throwing blame at an innocent person.”
My anger soared when he called himself that; innocent. Nope, no man is innocent as long as I’m alive.
“You aren’t innocent bastard, all you guys do is to chase everything in skirts and then once you have gotten that person’s body, you either dump the girl or you cheat on her. You all are scum!” I snapped at him and my eyes watered again.
Don’t do this, Katie, don’t do this. Not now.
The man became speechless, he opened his mouth but kept it shut again.
“Look miss, I don’t know what happened to you or who hurt you, but you should know that not all men are scum, and you shouldn’t take your problems out on other people. How about I give you a small remedy?” He paused and then continued when I didn’t say anything.
“it isn’t much, but I’m sure it will help you a lot, if you have any hateful words you’d like to say about that person, why don’t you get a little diary and write down those words? You can even draw a picture of that person as a monster or even draw that person just to poke it with your pen every night.” He suggested, and a little laugh let my throat.
Honks.
The man looked at the cars waiting behind before staring at me,
“I hope this works for you miss and from the look of things, I can see that you are alright. Take care of yourself and don’t let any f*****g asshole bring you down.” He gave me one last glance before entering his car.
Now that my head and mind were clear, I could see his car drive away. I left the road and let other cars pass, ignoring the passersby who stood to watch the drama going on, I made my way home.
