Jordan POV “Jordan why are you hobbling like a little old lady?” Jaxon asked again, prodding me with a finger as I sat in the passenger seat, staring bemusedly out the front window, the pain in my ribs throbbing with pain as I struggled not to wince. “I um fell,” I said blankly “off a ladder.” He winced in sympathy. “How bad is it?” he demanded. I didn’t answer. He pulled the car over to the side and parked, pinning me with a glare. I flinched. Geez, he was being way overprotective.
