5 - Plan

1816 Words
Alexander “f**k!” I grit my teeth and shift mid run, putting as much distance between myself and the incoming wolves as possible. There’s something about that girl that just makes me ache for running away and leaving her there, the feeling that she might be it for me, dare I say, my mate? Both mine and my wolf's emotions were all over the place, so neither have screamed the word that will claim her as hours, but then again, the way we met is traumatic to say the least. Who is she? What is she to me? By the time I get closer to the borders of the Royal pack, I’ve decided that saving that human has sparked some hero complex in me. I heard her mutter some very colourful choice of words addressed to the Alpha Supreme mere seconds before she jumped. And with the pack of wolves that were surely searching for her, I get the feeling that whether human or not, that girl knows about our kind, making a weird wish catch roots deep in my heart, the wish to see her again and confirm that she is mine. Walking naked through the palace, ignoring the looks of embarrassment mixed with lust of most of the female servants, I take long strides towards my room and shut the door, ordering for no one to disturb me. An idea sparks in my tired and worked up mind. The hatred was clear in the girl's voice. She despises the Alpha Supreme at least as much as I do. And if I have to take a chosen mate, I would much rather take a weak human that attempted to end her life, rather than that b***h they are forcing me to marry. Hell, I want that weak human and so does Griffin. I saved her life, therefore I’m sure the little human would at least not fear me. I keep trying to conjure her face in my mind, but it’s all a blur. How in the world am I supposed to find her, if I can't even be sure what she looks like? All I see in my memories are a bruised, puffy face. She was already purplish from the cold water, and the darkness didn't help me decipher her features either. “Damn it!” I yell and throw a random decoration at a nearby wall, shattering it to pieces. “Well, I see you got back and aren’t utterly pissed off anymore.” Chris comes into the room like it’s the most natural thing to force my locked door. “I’m so not in the mood right now.” I say, grabbing the first pair of trousers I could find. “In the mood for what? You don’t even know why I’m here.” He raises his hands in mock surrender. I growl as a response. “Is it safe to come in now?” Cleo’s chirpy voice sounds from outside my room. “Yup, he’s decent.” Chris welcomes our sister in. “Wow, what did that statue ever do to you?” She scrunches up her nose, eyeing the shattered figure on the floor. I shrug. “What do you want, brats?” “We have intel.” Cleo whispers. Chris is poking his head out the door to see if there is anyone that might hear us, while I frown at how ridiculous they’re being. “And what intel might you have?” I quirk an eyebrow and then head to find a shirt to put on. “I’ll have you know, that after somebody ran out of our little family meeting, like a pouty princess, mother and father welcomed a call from Alpha and Luna Wright. You know, the parents of your wife to be.” Ignoring the comparison between me and a bratty princess, I walk back to where my sister is and look at her intrigued, waiting to hear more. “Before you go all excited, no, the wedding is not off, on the contrary.” Chris takes over. “There has been a… situation in the Crescent Moon pack.” My breath hitches and I gulp nervously. I clear my throat, acting nonchalant and hoping my siblings didn’t notice. “What kind of a.. Uhm.. situation?” “Oho, you are so busted!” Griffin mocks me. “Busted? For what? I didn’t do anything.” “Anything wrong, you mean. But you did save a little human near their territory. Remember her?” He mocks me again before I shut him off. “It would appear as the Alpha Supreme compelled her own brother into attacking another girl. The guy nearly killed her, and now half the pack wants him to step down as future Alpha. A full on riot has broken out and it’s all because of that selfish Alpha Supreme.” Chris explains. "They want to ship her to the palace as soon as possible." “Well, her parents said it was all a misunderstanding, that even her brother said he attacked that girl because she disrespected his sister, but come on… A future Alpha randomly attacking a girl he was meant to be friends with? I’ve seen the guy, he’s good looking so it's not like you can say he got mad because the girl rejected him, or something. No, he’s covering up for his sister.” Cleo states matter of factly, but all I can focus on is the memory of the girl on the bridge. Was she the girl that was attacked? Was she feeling responsible for the commotion created in the pack? A weird sense of having to protect that girl, takes a hold of me. “Having a human Luna drew in too many humans into a wolf pack.” I think out loud. “What?” My siblings frown at me, but I dismiss them with a wave of my hand. "You said they want to ship her here?" I ask. "Indeed. She's turning 18 tomorrow." Cleo ads before she notices the sun on the verge of rising, and corrects herself. "Actually today. She's turning 18 today." "Well then. I better figure out a present for her." I smirk at the plan that is forming in my mind. The desire to rid the werewolf world of that devil that is the Alpha Supreme rises fast in my being. With Griffin being on the same page, I take a deep breath and ask my sister to go fetch my parents. We are having another family gathering even if it’s barely the c***k of dawn and I haven’t slept in forever. --- “Alexander? Where have you been?” My mother asks while my father grumbles about being woken up an hour before his alarm was due to ring. “That’s not important, mother. I just needed to clear my head.” I say, and hear my brother and my sister snorting unceremoniously. A harsh look from me and they both compose themselves. “I’ve heard that my future wife will be joining us today.” The fear in my mother's eyes and the suddenly wide awake face of my father tells me that they are fearing I’ll storm out again, or worse. “She is. But Alex, please don't…” I raise my hand and my mother stops whatever she was planning on saying. “I’m not going to do anything. I called you here because I had a think, and I am the next King, which is why I understand the position comes with a lot of need for personal sacrifice attached to it.” My family is quiet as they all look at me with mouths gaping open, waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop. I don't give them the satisfaction. “And this is why I have decided to go through with this marriage.” I announce. --- Later in the day, after I got some much needed sleep and reassured my parents that I have indeed meant what I say about accepting to be married with to the Alpha Supreme, I am joined once more by the twin brats. "OK, spill Alex. What's the catch?" Cleo is the first to break the ice. "There's no catch." I reply, trying to change the subject. "Yeah, we know you too well, brother. There is a catch." Chris joins in. "Fine! If you breathe a word of this to anyone, I will cast you away." I threaten them and they both do a zipping on their lips gesture. Knowing that if the Alpha Supreme is killed, there is a high chance for all werewolves to die, I figured that by having her close, I can keep her safe and make sure she stays alive but I can also make her life a living hell, which is what the entitled b***h deserves. I plan on searching for that girl on the bridge and ultimately taking her as my mistress. As cruel as it may sound, seeing how broken that girl was tells me that she would gladly accept the role of pleasing me while also staying in the shadows. In return, I plan to make sure she has everything her heart could possibly desire, even a place next to mine at the table and the other side of my bed. Of course my dreaded wife would have to accompany me to everything official, but I am certain I can make this plan work and keep everyone, including myself, happy. The shocked faces of my brother and sister throw me off my game. And then they both start laughing. And I mean full belly laughs, even tears are involved. “Why are you laughing?” I growl at them, annoyed at their childishness. “Wait. You’re not kidding?” Chris’s face pales, the laughter dying on his lips. “Cleo, he wasn’t kidding.” He states again. “Of course I am being serious.” I bark. “But if you weren’t kidding, that means you just left her there? The girl? Alex, you literally threw her to the wolves, you understand that right?” Cleo snarls, clearly disappointed in me. “I had to. I was naked, and I kind of didn’t have an explanation for being there in the first place. I wouldn't have looked great.” I defend myself. “Why were you naked, you perv?” She pushes me. “I shredded all my clothes when I shifted. Anyway, not important. What is important is that I plan on finding her, and making it all better. I plan on making her life better.” I proudly announce, earning myself disapproving shakes of their heads from my siblings. "Good luck to you, brother." Cloe adds. "No seriously, good luck, because mom just mind linked me, and the Alpha Supreme has entered the palace."
