Chapter 12: The Mysterious Guy

A week later, after the crisis in Defense Ministry…

This whole week White had been distraught. He tried to take control back of his hidden camera but failed. The man was really annoying. White had never felt like this before. The man's smile a moment before turning off the camera control was very sneering. White still failed to get the camera control. His patience was over. White decided to meet the man. He did not know what the person's name was. But, he knew where he worked.

The hidden camera in the Ministry of Digital Programming was put by White when his school visited the Ministry Office around 3 months earlier. His school program made him visited several ministries to see the work atmosphere in each section. The aim was to provide a glimpse of the work atmosphere and show what was done by each ministry. Hopefully, this activity could attract students to develop their passion for available ministries.

This visit was indeed very interesting for White because he could put hidden cameras everywhere for his pleasure. In the ministry staff's eyes, Prince White was a quiet Prince and was busy with his own world. They tried to be nice to Prince White with courtesy and standard formalities shown to the royal family.

Alex didn’t not like school children visiting his office as part of their education. For Alex, children were just a bunch of problems. He preferred to go home rather than meet them. His superior, Digital Programming Minister Fajar Tanjung, asked all staff to attend because there was Prince White among the visiting guests.

All staff was very enthusiastic about meeting Prince White, except Alex. When the Digital Programming ministry staff tried to get closer to Prince White, Alex chose to keep his distance. He observed Prince White from his desk. Prince White looked quiet and reserved. It was clear that Prince White was not comfortable being the center of attention. When the staff's attention turned to the other participants, Prince White became more relaxed. He observed the items on the table and paintings on the wall, occasionally touching and lifting objects. Soon, the school group passed from Alex's room, and he was relieved.

Everything looked normal until Alex detected an unregistered digital object on the monitor screen. Alex was indeed very alert. He used to activate special programs to detect unregistered digital objects around him. He wanted to make sure he was the only hacker operating in the ministry. Unregistered digital hardware was detected in his office. How could it be? This object had just appeared along with the arrival of school children. Alex detected the location of the unregistered object on his laptop screen. His eyes switched focus from the laptop screen to the painting on the wall.

There was something a little different in the picture of the painting. Alex approached the painting and watched closely. Disguised by the painting's color, a mini camera, thin, flat, looked like a sticker, was hidden in the painting. At a glance, no one would be aware of the camera on the painting. The person who hid it was smart enough. Alex thought, who might do this. Most likely was a school companion or one of the children. It seemed Alex could guess who the culprit was, but he needed to check to make sure. Alex thought for a moment, pondered, then decided to leave the camera in its place. Instead of taking down the perpetrator's camera control, Alex preferred to hack the perpetrator's software program and observed the perpetrator. It didn't take long for Alex to find out that the actor who put the hidden camera in the painting was Prince White.

White came to the Digital Programming ministry building. Fajar Tanjung hurried over to him. This impromptu visit really disturbed his neatly arranged agenda. He was forced to leave the strategy meeting he was doing with the defense ministry team. The latest incident really made the Ministry of Defense tighten digital security. For this reason, Fajar Tanjung was called to work together.

"Your Royal Highness, Prince White. It's sudden! What is it?" asked Fajar Tanjung in amazement.

"No, nothing. I want to find my things that are left behind," White said. His attitude was so arrogant and cold. He didn’t show any warm emotion to Fajar Tanjung. In fact, he felt contempt and disgust for the man that played a trick on him.

"What is it?" Fajar Tanjung asked curiously.

"Well, it’s hard to explain. Let me go around this office to look for it. I will not disturb your employees. You can get back to the meeting," White replied indifferently.

“I’m sorry, but all the staff is in the meeting room now. If possible, could you please inform me of the characteristic of your missing things? After the meeting finished, I will ask all my staff to search for it. Is it okay for you, Your Royal Highness?” Fajar Tanjung tried to suggest.

“Are you not listening to me? I want to search for this place now. I want to find all the missing things by myself,” said White, upset.

"I will ask someone to accompany you," answered Fajar Tanjung.

"In that case, I ask to be accompanied by your tall, thin, brown-haired staff, who sat alone in the corner when my first visit with school," White said.

Fajar Tanjung thought for a moment, then searched for photos on his cellphone. "Is this the person that you are looking for?” asked Fajar, handing him his cellphone.

White smiled broadly. Gotcha! Finally, I found you, Mr. Ugly face. I will not forgive you, White said to himself.

White looked at Fajar triumphantly, "Yes, that's right. This is the guy. I want him now."

“Okay, Your Royal Highness. I will call him now for you,” said Fajar Tanjung in a polite manner.

Fajar Tanjung wondered. What fatal mistake was made by Alex that Prince White felt so offended? Could Alex escape the grudge of Prince White? Fajar Tanjung could not think what bad luck would befall Alex. He couldn’t imagine! He had better hand Alex over to Prince White so he himself would be safe.

Poor Alex!
