[Lucien]   When I entered my mother’s room, it looked like she’d been crying. I hated seeing any of the females in my life cry. I really hated being the cause of their tears in any way. “Maman, why are you crying?” I whispered, as I approached her bed. I pulled some tissue from the box on the wall and sat in the chair next to her, handing the tissue to her. She worked to pull herself together. My mother hated looking weak or unkempt. I thought she was always beautiful, though. “I thought you left with your mate. How is the baby?” She asked, sniffling. “Babies. There doesn’t seem to be an issue.
