Chapter 10.

1430 Words
Ella’s Ian's mother POV. There were people streaming out with these syringes and darts in them but after that no one has come out. Why is it taking them so long to find them? The people are waking up but they have no connection to their magic. I sent about ten to seven people I know to have them analyze it but I am scared to know what these people have found to neutralize magic. I am on pins and needles for my son but I trust him. However if I feel his lifeforce waiver at all me and my mate will storm this place and save him. I will break open this earth and find him. Ian POV. After door five I got this feeling that it is leading me somewhere special and my gut has never failed me before so I just follow it. I am covered in blood but I have no time to clean it up. I have had to stop a few times to keep my sanity in check. Walking and breaking necks or bursting lungs is not doing me any good and especially this amazing feeling that comes after it. “Stop!” A man in a white labcoat jumps on my arm. “Why are you doing this to us?!” he screams in my face. I look in his face, it looks genuinely scared and terrified. I turn around to him so he falls on his knees so I put my hand under his chin. I move my mind into his for a split second but it was enough to see what I wanted to see. He did not care about the people he was hurting, he cared about this institution and his research. His research is how long a human body can live on nothing but supplements through an IV. I saw all the people he was monitoring. I am disgusted by him. I move my hand from his chin to his throat. “You are a sick bastard and I should feed you to the rogues but that would mean to let you live and I am not that kind” With those words I dig my nails in his throat and rip his neck out. Blood splatters everywhere and I watch him drown in his own blood. I didn't look away because I wanted to see the life leave his eyes. “Monster!” I look away from the man down the hall and there I see one of the women from my team moving a group of children up the hall back to the meet up point. There are around five children all magical. Three of them are staring at me with a blank unbothered face but one is crying and I guess she is the one that screamed. The woman does not stop for long, she hurries with the children past me, bowing her head. I shake the uneasy feeling off me and keep moving. Now we are about twenty floors down, way more than we thought were and I am hoping the no teleporting barrier is keeping people still grounded. People are now going both ways. Down to fight and back up with someone injured or someone they find here. How many mom? Over a hundred new and about fifty from us. I bite down, s**t, I should have prepared more healers. So many people, why has no one come looking for them? I am knocked on the back of my head and I stumble forward. My vision blurring for a second then I feel a stab at my air barrier and I am pushed forward landing on all fours. I turn around on the ground looking up at my attacker and to my horror I see a child. I freeze in my movements. I can't hurt this child. It does not know what it is doing. I start to move backward but this child hounds on me. I blast it back not so much it would hurt it but stop it. Fuck. What can I do? Then I remember, I got hit in the back of my head and the stab was between my shoulder blades. This child is up to my torso. They could not have hit me so high. I push my air at him an feel that her figure is way bigger than what I am seeing. This is an illusion. I stand up and without a second thought I swing my fist in head height according to my air magic. My fist collides with something squishy and the illusion fades away leaving a very ugly woman. The first thought coming up in my mind is the ugly witch in the Hansel and Gretal fairy tale. Her skin is wrinkled all over her face, her hair is so thin I can see through it, her nose is so big and long I feel like it could fall off and finally her eyes are lime glowing green. “Life has not been fair to you, has it?” I ask not in a mocking way, I pity her. That makes her feral and she jumps on me but her movements are slow so I just wrap my whole arm around her middle and slam her against the wall. The air knocks out of her lungs and she starts to scratch at me like a feral beast stuck in a cage. She tries to bite me but her teeth only meet the airtight shield I have and she keeps screaming. With one quick move I make a knife around my hand and I stab her right in her heart. She screams more and moves around but then she finally falls limb in my arms. I drop her on the ground and sigh. I rub my head. There is so much screaming. The air here is so thick. I smell nothing but blood anymore. I can do this many hours more. That is not my problem but this is just so much bigger than I ever thought. And I am afraid I took too much time finding them that we can't save as many as we could have. Ian? Yes We have relatives showing up. All of them had trackers on their loved ones and as soon as they came out they could feel them. No one leaves until I come out. I can’t hold everyone! Call the council! This is way bigger than we thought. Alright my love. The link goes silent. I could hear she was stressed and upset. That is never okay with my mom. She needs to stay calm. Should I go up and take control of them there? No, I am needed down here, I need to fight with my people. However I need to keep all stations under control. Is this my bloodlust talking? Do I need to go up? No, I need to follow my gut and it says I am close. I start running down the hall, watching not to step on any of the corpses on the ground but also keeping my senses open if some of them are still alive and need my help. I pass so many doors, they are just not the doors I need to open. I turn a corner and freeze in my steps. There on the ground with bodies piling on top of each other is a creature. Half wolf half human eating the neck of a dead person from my team. I know him, he has a family! “STOP!” I scream at it. It looks up at me and I am shaken to my core. The animal has big yellow eyes like a cat. A round head with thick whiskers all over. Very long mouth that only reminds me of the jokers mouth but with fangs. Very tall, over two meters long body and with a tail. Its hands end in very long claws. Somehow it is almost fully clothed still in a very expensive looking suit with a vest and rolled up sleeves. When it looks at me I can feel it is not some brainless animal, it is smart and it will not be easy to take it down. I look around trying to think if there are some weapons around that I can use but then I see it. Door number 59, behind those doors is something that I need. This creature is standing in my way. Behind there is something I need. “GET OUT OF MY WAY!” I scream at it.
