Daniel nodded trustingly, which made Joyce feel guilty. Although she couldn't figure out if he was a real fool, she would ensure he was under her protection as long as he's in Los Angeles.
At night, Joyce told Daniel she decided to sleep on the sofa. Daniel agreed on her without hesitation. She was surprised that he agreed so quickly.
Late at night, Joyce woke up from the sofa. After confirming that Daniel was sleeping, she opened the window and jumped. Her movements were so light that she barely made a sound. When she left, Daniel opened his eyes in the bed. The weak, pitiful look in his eyes now was completely gone.
He sat up from the bed and looked deeply into the window. His room was on the second floor. How could Joyce jump directly from the second floor so confidently and calmly? She also avoided all surveillance. Was she the one in his mind?
Daniel's eyes seemed to be shrouded in a faint mist. Daniel filled his mind with Joyce's bright eyes. The image gradually overlapped with the memory of those moving eyes.
They would still be together for a long time. Daniel could gradually find out the truth.
A grumpy male voice came out from a box in the Viva Club, "s**t! Who dares to look down on me! Guys, go and kick their ass!"
Joyce stood outside the door with a frown. She kicked open the box door, "Jay, what are you freaking out about!" Joyce said as she walked in.
When those people saw her, they were all excited. Jay Barton, who was furious earlier, curtly came to her, "Boss! We are waiting for you. Don't get angry. We don't want to get into trouble. But some scrums bully my brothers..."
Joyce gave Jay an oblique glance.
They knew each other dramatically. Jay Barton was initially a wealthy young man. His family was considered one of the best in Los Angeles. But this rich young master always had some strange ideas. He didn't spend time on his career but with a group of young brothers trying to unify the underground forces of Los Angeles. They had made some trouble before.
"You seem proud..." Joyce felt speechless.
"Of course, it means I've made a name for myself! Um, Wait!" With a few moments of surprise, Jay said, "Why do the outsiders come to LA to develop a gang?"
Joyce said in a deep voice, "I don't know. I think it is not that simple. Jay, you arrange two reliable guys to watch them and find out who they are first."
"And what to do next? " Jay asked.
"Call the police, let the police end them all," Joyce answered him.
Six months ago, Jay met Joyce and had a conflict with her. That time he was given a hard time by Joyce. Since then, Jay has tried to challenge her several times, but only to fail.
Finally, Jay became her big fan. At Joyce's request, he stopped thinking about unifying the underground forces and disbanded his small gang.
After the others left, Joyce chatted with Jay to find out what was happening. After Jay's description, she understood what had happened.
After disbanding his gang, Jay had previously arranged suitable jobs for his minions. His minions were poached by others recently. Jay was angry with it, which led to the scene Joyce just saw.
"Don't be impulsive before finding out who they are. This new force might not be from LA." Joyce frowned.
"Why? How could they come from somewhere else?" Jay was amazed.
"Who else do you think dares to mess with you in Los Angeles?" Joyce gave him a blank look.
"That's true," Jay said with a proud face.
He regretted saying those words. He said with some embarrassment, "Don't say that. It's not enough to unify the underground forces ......"
"Oh, it seems like you still want to cause trouble." Joyce clenched her fist with a sneer.
"No, I'm a good citizen! This scrum should be left to the police! The police will teach them a lesson." Jay said squarely.
Joyce pulled out a small box and said, "Enough. I'm coming for you today to ask you a favor. Take these medications to the medical testing laboratory operated by your family. Find out what they are. Remember, keep this secret. Never say a word about it with others ." These medications were the same ones Daniel takes every day.
While feeding Daniel his medicine, she quietly replaced his medicine with the vitamin tablets she carried. Bob stood too far before, and he did not notice her move. She inexplicably felt something was wrong with these medications, so she asked Jay for help.
"No problem, I will handle it." Jay took the small box.
"By the way, have you heard of anyone who likes to wear a monster mask?" Joyce asked.
Jay did not know that man. Joyce felt helpless, and she could only ask him to help keep an eye out.
Jay seems to have thought of something. He said with interest, "Speaking of outsiders, Boss, I think the Stowes is suspected. I heard that one of their young masters was a fool. He was sent to LA. Do you think the recent emergence of those forces in LA relates to the Stowes? "
He continued. "I've heard that the infighting between the big families is cruel. Despite their blood ties, they struggle with each other. I think the things aren't that simple for that young master either..."
"Since you know the infighting is cruel, you should not get involved in this. You don't even know what horrible things you will encounter!" Joyce said in a deep voice.
"I know, I just feel curious..." he knew that Joyce was worried about him. Jay said resentfully, "By the way, I heard that the Willards married their daughter to that fool just for the money! What woman would be so stupid that she would agree to marry a fool?"
Joyce clenched her fist. She's the dumb one! Yuck!
She was staying by Daniel's side for some purpose. Besides, they hadn't even gotten a marriage license yet. They couldn't be considered married at all!
"Jay! Come here. Let me see if you can fight better!" Joyce grabbed him by the collar and pulled him towards the door.
