It was almost time for the board meeting and Alexander was sitting in his office, waiting anxiously.
Elizabeth entered his office, walked down to where he was sitting and sat beside him.
“It’s going to be okay.” she assured him, as she reached for his hand and held it. She gave his hand a small comforting squeeze and smiled at him.
“Thank you.” He said, as he smiled at her. Her kind gestures helped ease his anxiety.
He glanced at his wristwatch. It was 10:00 PM already.
“It’s time.” He said, as he leapt to his feet.
He trudged towards the door and Elizabeth walked behind him.
“You can’t follow me to the board meeting, just sit back and wait for me.” He said. “Wait and pray for me also.”
“I hope it goes well.” She said.
“I hope so too.” He said.
She stood there and watched him,
