Without Thomas around, the house seemed bigger. It was all in his head, of course. He’d spent weeks here with just Amy, and the visit was still in its early days. But he’d become so accustomed to watching for him, or listening out for the sound of his steps, or working alongside him that he missed him when he wasn’t around. Was that a mate thing? He couldn’t remember the few details his father had deigned to share. Pack dynamics hadn’t been as important to Andre’s dad as they were to other wolves.
