Chapter 8 Thomas was so wrapped up in his worry about Andre that he didn’t notice the stray curl into himself until the animal’s head was tucked between its front paws. Other than the noise it had made entering the yard, it had been completely silent, no whine for food, no whimper of potential discomfort. Even as his gaze swiveled back to it, the dog remained quiet, the only evidence something was wrong the contorted posture of its long, slim body.
