The third round began. I knew the people were cheering for both of us and that I had nothing to prove. But I wanted to. I wanted to let them know, that their leader is capable and strong enough to protect tham even if I was an ordinary woman. Emmett's excitement after his total defeat in the second round caught me surprised. There wasn't even a hint of a broken ego of a man. No angry or humiliated stare at me. Only pure excitement and curiosity. To be honest, I was mesmerized. His movements with the sword had no pair and it was only matter of luck that I lasted that long. It was the last round. Should I let him win and give more to believe in for my people, or should I give my all? He looked focused and ready to hunt me down. I felt a smile spreading on my face and I cracked my neck. It's time to give it all! I swear I heard our heartbeats like they were a balanced melody while we fought each other. Each time our hands touched I felt like I've been shocked a bit. The way he looked at me made me burn inside. I felt like he was capturing me with his glance. Emmett launched at me and grabbed me by my waist. I felt my stomach clench and I turned around him escaping from his strong arms. But honestly, I wanted more. I wanted to be swayed off of my feet and get lost in those strong arms. He grinned and ran to me again to attack. I dodged and kicked his knees from behind. Emmett landed on the ground with a loud bump but was back om his feet immediately. He caught me from behind but I swung him over my head. He landed on his feet.

- Are you a cat perhaps? - I asked and he smiled mischievously. He caught my hands and pulled me closer.

-Not a cat, but I can be another type of feline for you. - I felt my cheeks blushing. Slowly and carefully I wrapped my leg around his and our bodies entangled. We got dangerously close and he whispered.

- I don't know about you, but I think you lost. - I grinned and placed a peck om his cheek. He lost concentration and his hold on me weakened. I sent him flying on the ground and got on top of him.

-I don't think so kitty! - he growled at me and we started rolling on the ground trying to get the upper hand. I really enjoyed this fight. It had something fun in it and also the heat between us almost burned my skin. I saw it in his eyes whenever our glances met, he wanted me as much as I wanted him. But I had to put an end of this before I get too carried away. He had a lady at home waiting for his return. I didn't plan to be a home wrecker even if the desire and the chemistry was clearly here. Emmett pinned me down the ground and Conrad started to count. Emmett leaned closer and said.

- It looks like you'll have to grant me a wish. - he said with a wink and I remembered of the agreement.

- I'm sorry. - I said and kicked him off of me. Emmett flew further landing on his back and got knocked out. Conrad counted till five and rushed to check on Emmett. He soon became conscious again and as soon as I saw him being fine, I offered a hand and helped him up.

- Looks like I overestimated myself. - he said woth a shy smile and scratched the back of his neck. After that he held one of my hands and said.

- As we agreed, I should grant the lady a wish. - I looked at him and people started to leave again. I pulled my hand back and said.

- Just, stay true to your heart. - he looked confused but I hoped he'll understand it lately.

- Let's get ourselves together and meet me in town hall. I wanted to talk to you about our alliance.

- Oh... Okay. - he said and looked at me like a lost puppy. His blue eyes looked so innocent and confused. The shine of the predator from previously, the glance that almost devoured me before, was gone for now. I walked to my home and had a cold bath. Then I changed into a mew set of clothes and went to the town hall. On the door I met with Maya and she asked directly.

- What was that? - I shrugged and tried to pretend I didn't understand what she meant.

- Just a friendly spare. It was a good decision to agree with the alliance. - I was about to leave but Maya held my arm stopping me from leaving.

- You know exactly what I meant young lady. - I smiled at her and felt my eyes filling with tears. Maya pulled me into a hug and I laughed.

- I'm so silly and miserable!

- You just like him, why is that such a big problem? Listen to me. - she said and wiped my tears off holding my face in her hands.

- Anyone who were there watching you two today can tell, there is something between you and the Prince. I can't describe what I saw, but it seemed like you two were in a different world where only the two of you existed. - I laughed the pain off and gently removed her hands.

- Don't be silly Maya! We were fighting! - Maya smiled and caressed my head.

- Then why are you crying sweetheart? - I chuckled.

- I don't know either.

- You are a horrible liar Elidi. - I sighed. Guess I cannot fool the woman who has been my mother instead of my own for most of my life.

- Even if I started to feel something, he has someone waiting for him at home. I won't stand in the way of that. - Maya shook her head and pat mine again.

- I'm sorry. - I forced a smile om my face and said.

- Sometimes people are just not meant to be. I'll be fine Maya! Don't worry! - I left the house and headed to the town hall.

The door closed behind her and I couldn't believe what I heard. Someone else? Could things turn out so differently this time? I headed out to find the Young Master. I found him gathering herbs and I pulled him away. When we were out of sight for the others I asked him directly.

- Does Prince Emmett has someone special in his heart? - Conrad nodded.

- I thought it was obvious. - he said and I sighed sitting down on a fallen tree.

- My poor lady... - Conrad sat next to me and held he gently.

- Hey! This is not the end of the world!

- You don't understand... This time I thought she can be happy.

- Nothing stops her happiness neither his now.

- How can you say that when she is clearly falling for the Prince ?! - I almost screamed and Conrad covered my mouth.

-I don't understand what is the problem here! Finally they both are in love! It happened faster than I expected, but I guess those feeling from their previous lives didn't die entirely with our realities! - Conrad said happily and I removed his hand from my mouth and said.

- But what does it matter if he has someone else at home?

-What? - this was probably the first time I saw the Young Master genuinely confused in all three lives we shared.

- Why do you think that he has a lover?

- The lady said so. - Conrad hit his forehead and laughed.

- So she was jealous!

- Stop laughing and tell me what is going on! - Conrad stopped laughing and smiled widely.

- Annalise is that special someone who is waiting for his return! His sister! Come on Maya! The Prince is a fool for her! - we heard the sound of footsteps but it was late to escape.

- Well, well what do we have here? - a knight asked and another responded.

- The maid of the Princess we are so eagerly looking for! - Maya stood tall and said to me.

- Run! - I grabbed my sword but she pushed me far away. I stumbled behind the protective barrier and Maya disappeared from my sight. I ran as fast as I could to get Elidi or Emmett. I ram into the town hall to the most awkward silence and both of them looked at me immediately.

- THEY TOOK MAYA!

- Who? - Emmett asked but Elidi already ran past through me with her hands on fire and her hair turning blonde.
