AURORA’S POV I could not find Maya. It felt like I was searching forever but glancing down at my phone, it’d only been thirty minutes. Had I really been searching for her for that long? Why wasn’t she searching for me? Or even Lucas searching for me? Was he still back there with that tool, laughing at how stupid and ugly I am? The anger in my gut twisted itself further—that asshole.
