Chapter 11 Brody toys with the idea of rushing out after Mr. Handsome and Evie, but they’ve already disappeared from sight. Maybe the man will realize the phone’s missing and return for it. Better to stay here, then, just in case. So Brody returns to his sketch of the birds, but they’re no longer pecking the sidewalk outside the window, and the drawing is pretty much complete as it is. He turns to the sketch he started of Evie, and just looking at it brings the bright little girl back to him.
