I read the letter again, searching for more than was written on the page. My hands dropped to my lap, still clutching the paper between my fingers as I stared off to the far horizon, the watery distance of the Mediterranean, the same backdrop whose blue waves and brilliant sunshine helped me fall in love with Gaia. Her letter filled in few details that I didn"t know, hadn"t known, since that day in 2014 when I returned to her room to find her gone. I remember stepping through the doorway, expecting to see her done with her shower, dressed, and ready to go.
