Shawn's POV Last night, father and I were summoned by the pack oracle. I was a bit confused, the oracle rarely requests a summit with the Alpha, unless it is a vision of pressing pack issues. Father said the last time he was summoned this late, it was because she saw an impending attack. That thought had my nerves on edge. Could someone be planning to attack our pack? My question are soon answered as we arrived at the oracles cabin. "I was informed you needed to speak with us." My father, Wayne, Alpha of Crestmoon pack spoke to the oracle. "Yes, Alpha Wayne. I have had a vision." She turned to us holding a leather book that looked very old. "That's The Legend of the Immortal Traveler, we read it in Alpha training." I spoke when I realized what book she was holding. "Yes, that is why I called you here. I had a vision of the traveler. The legend is happening now, and you are meant to be apart of this legend. Alpha, your whole family, and pack are part of this." She told us in a serious manner. "Please explain what you mean." My father spoke to her. He rarely made requests, so I was impressed y the respect he showed to her. "The traveler will be making the journey through Crestfield tomorrow, sometime around lunch. he moon goddess has chosen our pack to help prepare the traveler for the trials ahead. Bring the traveler here to rest, but do not reveal our true nature, yet. The traveler does not know about our kind, yet. Add out location to the map , the traveler carries. I will meet with you tomorrow to give you a message to deliver. I suggest the young Alpha and his friends have a picnic in Crestfield to greet the traveler." She finished. My father thanked her and we bid her good night. On the walk back, we formed a plan. "Tell your friends, there will be a picnic in Crestfield. You will greet anyone passing by until you meet the traveler, then mind link me, and invite him to join you." He told me. "Sure thing, father. I am excited to meet the legendary traveler." I responded. Once I reach my room. I find it hard to go back to sleep. How amazing I get to the traveler. Legend says he will grow to be the most powerful creature alive. I must have dozed off because I was awakened by my phone. Everyone is excited to have a picnic today, but not as excited as I am. There are about eight of us currently throwing the frisbee. The blankets were spread out and the basket of food is ready. I have briefly explained to my friends about our guest the oracle said was coming. It wasn't long before I saw a young woman walking by, so I started to make my way to greet her. There was no way she was who I was looking for, but father said to greet everyone. "Hey, how are you doing, today?" I greeted her. "I am fine, thank you, and how are you?" She responded as she looked up at me. I am stunned by her beauty. She had long chestnut brown hair, with beautiful emerald green eyes. Her skin was a deep tan, her cheek bones were high making her face a perfect shape. She was well built with amazing curves. I tried to clear my head and focus on answering her. "I am great. Where are you heading today?" I tried to act as if I were making polite conversation. "I am just traveling through, no real destination. I am just enjoying the beauty here." She responded looking around at the landscape. I watched her face for signs of deception, but there were none as I responded. "I am Shawn, I live in the Crestmoon pack." "Nice to meet you, Shawn. I am Aroura. I am traveling, recording my journey along the way, in search of my destiny." My mouth fell open at her response. Is this young girl, the traveler? I kept talking to her to make sure."That is such a cool way to look at things. May I walk with you some?" "If you would like, it is fine with me." She smiled at me. "So, where are you coming from?" I asked trying hard to not make her uncomfortable with my prying. "I have been many places: York, Ledford, Crestwood, and I just left a friend in Waterfall Crest. I just go where my feet take me." She answered as if it were nothing. "You left your friend in Waterfall Crest?" I was shocked. The legend says that the traveler would take a destine Luna to start over in Waterfall Crest to save the future of the Crestwater pack. "Yes, she was alone, and homeless. I helped her get to Waterfall Crest to have a fresh start. Every soul deserves a fair chance to find happiness." She smiled at me. I stopped in my tracks, staring at her. The traveler, the legendary creature of such power, is this beautiful young woman. It took me a minute to find my words. "Would you like to join us for lunch?" "Are you sure your friends won't mind. I don't want to intrude." She looked at me with a worried expression. I took the chance to mind link my father. "The traveler is here, and not what you are expecting." Then I turned to her. "They won't mind at all." I assured her as I took her hand and lead her to the group. It doesn't take long for my father to join us. I see the shock briefly cross his face. I know he is thinking what I did, she is barely past childhood. "Hello, my name is Wayne Crestmoon. I wanted to welcome you to our pack land. It is truly an honor to meet you. Is there anything you need after your journey? I can't let you leave without making sure you have everything you need." My father finally spoke to her. "Thank you, sir. I am Aroura, it's a pleasure to meet you. I usually travel with what I need for a day or two. I really don't plan to far ahead." She replied to him with a brilliant smile. "I would like to invite you to join us for dinner, and to stay the night. The least we could do is offer you a good nights rest." Father made the offer with a concerned look on his face. She looked up at my father with that brilliant smile. "That would be amazing, thank you." Father took her to the pack house as we gathered our stuff to follow. I could see her amazement as she took in the forest, she had no clue that the most amazing thing here was her. I studied that legend all through Alpha training, I loved the story of the all the great things the traveler would do. I always imagined it would be a man. Never did I expect to meet the traveler, let alone to meet her at the beginning of her amazing journey. Wayne's POV I had been making arrangements since I left the oracle. I wanted everything to be perfect for the arrival of the traveler. I have know since childhood, our kinds future depends on him. All super natural creatures future depend on his journey. I was busy preparing the pack for the visit. I made it known that no one was to shift while he is here, as the oracle told me. That was when I got Shawn's mind link. "The traveler is here, and not what what you are expecting." What is that supposed to mean? I rushed out to greet the traveler, and make him feel welcome. It was a great honor for the moon goddess to let us be apart of his journey. When I arrived at Crestfield, I understand what Shawn meant. There with him, and his friends sat a beautiful young lady, who had to be younger than Shawn. She was a child, how could she be the most powerful creature to ever exist? She looked up at me with her beautiful green eyes, and my Alpha heart just melted. "Hello, my name is Wayne Crestmoon. I wanted to welcome you to our packs land. It is truly an honor to meet you." I began. "Is there anything you need after your travels? I can't let you leave without making sure you have everything you need." "Thank you, sir. I am Aroura, it is a pleasure to meet you. I usually travel with what I need for a day or two. I really don't plan to far ahead." She replied. "I would like to invite you to join us for dinner, and to stay the night. The least we could do is offer you a good nights rest." "That would be amazing, thank you." She replied with a brilliant smile. I motioned for her to follow me. As we walked I noticed how amazed she is at the forest. Why did the oracle not tell me that the traveler was a child? I am not sure how I am supposed to let a child leave on this journey alone. I am not sure how I will explain this to Karrie, she will not be happy about letting this child leave alone. I will have to get more information from the oracle. Where is her family, why is she alone. As we reach the pack house, I see her expression change to shock. I take her to the guest room, and ask the staff to bring any supplies she may need, while I go see the oracle. "Why did you not tell me, she was a child?" I asked as I entered her cabin. "Because that information was not important yet. So now you understand part of why you will be part of this legend. She has been abandoned and shunned by her family. She has been on her own since she was thirteen. For more than two years now, she has struggled on her own. She began her journey a few months ago, and has no idea who, or what she is. When the legend was first revealed and her great grandmother realized, it was her descendant who would be this amazing creature, she bound her families powers to protect her heirs. After that she raised her family as human. She was never exposed to our world. Things must be revealed to her only when it is time. With time Alpha, you will grow to love that child. She needs you, and this pack. For tonight, you must tell her that she will find help when she needs it on her journey. Also, that her journey will affect many lives, and mold the future of our world. She is so much more than she realizes, her destiny is tied to that of so many others. Place the location of our pack on her map, for when she needs to return. You and I will talk again later." She explained things to me so that I better understood. I started back to the pack house still taking everything in. All my life, I knew the legend, but never did I expect this. The traveler is a fifteen year old girl, and my pack and I are a part of the legend. I went to my office and first sent for Luna Karrie, to explain what the oracle had told me, and prepare her to meet this child. Luna Karrie took it as well as could be expected, but she has not seen her yet. I sent a guard to bring Aroura to my office, so I could tell her what the oracle had instructed me to. The door opened and Aroura entered, and I saw Luna Karrie's expression change. "She's a baby." She mind linked me. I nodded at her. "Aroura, please come in, have a seat." I excused the guard before I continued. "I wanted to have a talk with you. First, during your visit here, you may hear words used that you don't understand, and many things I cannot explain to you at this moment, but when the time is right, you will understand. This is my wife Karrie, she helps me run our community here. We look after everyone who lives here." "It's nice to meet you, Karrie. But I don't know what I am doing here, sir." She said to me with a confused look. "Our oracle told us, you would pass through here, and that we should invite you here, to give you information to help you on your journey. You will find there is going to be help along your journey. People with information, food and supplies, and places for you to rest. Your journey will affect many lives, and mold the future of our world. You are meant to do great things. You are tied to the destiny of so many." I explained to her. "I do not know how I could be that important to anyone's future. I am just a simple person, who was in the wrong place." She said with a heart wrenching expression. "You are more special than you know. Many futures depend on your journey. You have never been in the wrong place, the goddess put you where you were meant to be." Karrie spoke with kindness. I could see her heart growing attached to this abandoned child. "We have been instructed by the oracle to add our location to your map. You will need it to return here someday." I told her requesting her map. She handed me her map and I noticed Crestwater pack already in the map. "I see you have met Crestwater pack. They are our allies." I handed her back her map. "Let's get some dinner, so you can rest." She nodded and followed us. I see her taking in her surroundings, I am sure she has never stayed anywhere like our pack house. Poor child probably never really had a home. I could tell she was nervous when we entered the dining hall. I lead her and Karrie over to the buffet to fix our plates. Guests always get treated to eating with the Alpha family. Once we are seated, I take the first bite, signaling to the pack, it is time to eat. Then we begin to introduce her to members of the pack. "This is Beta Jerry, he is my second in command around here. Jerry this is Aroura, the traveler." I watch as Jerry's eyes got big as he stared at her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aroura." Jerry said with a kind smile. "It's nice to meet you as well." She responded flashing that brilliant smile. We talked about the places she had been, and how beautiful she thought it was here. The conversation carried on for a long time, and during this time many of my pack members stopped to welcome the legendary traveler. Most were shocked to discover this child is the traveler. She realized it was getting late and started to excuse herself, when a guard came and asked to speak with me. I stepped off to the side to converse with him, where she can not hear us. "Alpha, there are rogues, trying to reach the pack house, I was told to alert you." The guard told me. "We must keep them away. They traveler is our guest tonight." I told him as I glanced Aroura's way." She does not know about our kind yet. We will go help catch the rogues." I stepped back to the table to excuse myself. "I apologize, I have some matters to attend to. Someone will be sent to get your laundry, so it will be ready when you leave, tomorrow. I will also have the kitchen prepare some supplies for your journey. Have a good night, Aroura." I spoke calmly so not to alert anyone of the problem. "Thank you, Wayne. I greatly appreciate everything. I don't think I could express how grateful I am for everything. I have felt so welcome here." She smiled at me, as I made my departure. I headed to the south border, where the rogues are trying to push through. It doesn't take long to capture the rogues, who have crossed the borders. I instructed the guards to place them in the pack jail. Then I go to meet with the oracle, I must know what our role is in this legend. The traveler is set to leave tomorrow. "Welcome Alpha." She greeted me at the door. "Did everything go as planned with the traveler?" "Everything went great. She enjoyed dinner, and took in all the information. She really doesn't know, who she is." I told her. "After she leaves here, she will travel to Dawning Star. She is meant to stay there for a while. She needs to be trained in magic and in self defense. You must help train her. Let her stay in the pack's house there, and you, Chance, and Jerry will train her. There is a witch you know, who will help her. She is meant to grow close to you and Jerry, and to make friends there. You are meant to learn to love her as you do your own child. The moon goddess is blessing you with a chance to be a big part of the traveler's life. You will understand more when the time is right," She told me with a large smile. "So, am I to take her to that house tomorrow?" I asked the oracle not sure what I am meant to do tomorrow. "No, let her leave, tomorrow. Jerry can follow and catch up to her in Dawning Star., She must make the journey there alone. She will meet the witch on her own at first, and then Jerry can help them to become friends. You must always remember, she must make this journey." The oracle told me as I prepared to leave. The next morning, we are making sure that we have prepared supplies for her journey. I know she only has two days travel to where she will stop next, but I want to make sure she will be alright. I feel like I am sending a child out into the cold. We are waiting when she comes down to leave. Shawn handed her the supplies we gathered. "This has food and supplies for your journey." He smiled at her. "Thank you. You all have been so kind." She responded. Shawn asked. "I know this sounds strange, but could we get a picture with you? It's for our wall of visitors." She nodded, and we all gathered. Someone snapped a few pictures and soon brought her a copy. "This is for you, to remind you that you have friends out here." I told her. "Thank you." She began. "You will never know how much this means to me. It has been an honor to stay here." With that, she made her way outside, to begin her journey again. Shawn and I walked with her to the border of Crestmoon land. She waved to us as she continued on her way. Though I knew she was going to meet us again very soon, it still hurt my heart to see that child leave alone.
