8: She's The Reason He Doesn't Skip the

Just then, a knock came on the door. "Yes, who's there?" he asked, but no one responded. This infuriated Mr. Jason, and he sighed in annoyance, then turned and focused on me. "I'm sorry, I guess I have started hallucinating." I chuckled in amusement. "Not at all, sir. I also heard the knock. Let's assume it's caused by the breeze. You know your office is the last on this floor," I replied, and he responded with a smile. "So, like I was saying, you'll tell me the secret of this sudden beauty of yours. You're becoming more beautiful daily," he went on, causing me to blush. "If you say so, sir. By the way, I applied some facial blush; maybe that's what's confusing you." "I'm old enough to differentiate lush beauty and natural beauty," he insisted, staring at me with admiration. I couldn't help but fix my gaze on the desk, as I was too shy to glare at him anymore. "In honesty, your beauty is one of the key factors I don't miss work anymore." I couldn't help but start twitching my fingers in shyness. No doubt I could see it on his face that he's madly obsessed with me. Jason was a bachelor who had refused to commit to anyone because he said he's waiting for me. About six months ago, he came to me and confessed his feelings to me that he wants me to be his girlfriend, but I plainly explained to him that I was not open to a relationship as I was still doubtful of a successful relationship because of my experience with Zayn, my ex-husband, and needed time to heal completely. Jason is such a handsome guy that most of his female staff are dying to have him date them. In honesty, he's not the type of person who women would say no to when he approaches one because he's somewhat every woman's dream. I was even scared then when I turned him down that he would start giving me unfair treatment or even fire me completely as my boss, but that wasn't the case. Instead, it was the opposite; he became nicer towards me, saying he would bide my time. Not gonna lie, those acts of his earned him a point from me. Moreover, Jason also treated my daughter Daisy as if he's the father, and she also loved him. At some point, Daisy, my friend whom I had discussed it with, even suggested I give him a chance, but I was still hesitant about it. "Well, I'm really delighted my presence is yielding something positive in this firm. At least we would join hands together and make Tech Savvy Strategies excel higher," I finally managed to respond, although I was trying to divert the topic as I was already uncomfortable. Jason noticed my motive and played along. "And which is what we're doing already," he said. "Guess what happened?" "The company has sent an approval letter concerning our terms of working with them," he responded without letting me think much about it. "Wow, I'm so happy that we scored this deal!" I exclaimed in excitement. "You mean Zech Holdings Ltd?" "Absolutely dear," he responded with joy. "I'm so happy, sir. Glad that we made it. So when are we starting the project?" I asked, eager to delve into this work and perform it amazingly. "Erm, relax," he said, clearing his throat to continue. "Actually, they need to approve the project first. I mean, it hasn't been signed and approved." "I got the tip from a friend who works there," he said, weakening my emotions. "No worries. We've already secured it, so nothing is happening. We just need to meet with their representative for lunch in Southampton City to finalize it," he added. "Southampton?" I was startled. That city I had vowed not to visit again since my friend Daisy and her husband moved to Northville City. "Yes dear. Is something wrong with that?" Jason questioned me upon noticing my uncomfortable facial expression. "Oh, I guess you're afraid of facing the barons. No worries. I'll go with you, so there's nothing to be scared of at all. Besides, the meeting is also going to be in a neutral place," he assured. Only if he knew why I'm really terrified. I gulped hard. I know I really need to do this because this project is going to change the phase of Tech Savvy Strategies. "Don't worry, Zora. Their sole intention is to meet us in person. At least know who they're dealing with instead of multiple sendings of emails and phone calls," he added. He was eager to make me feel at ease. "Alright sir. So when are we going?"
