“I’m impressed you’re the first one who recognized me and I don’t even have to explain that I’m the boss here.” Tara complimented Ves sincerely. “Come with me and please refrain from touching anything in this garden, Taz.”
“I was waiting for you to provoke the lady boss but I failed to see the entertainment.” Peter muttered to Ves.
Ves just glared at Peter before he followed Tara behind, he really doesn’t like Peter’s humor sometimes.
Although Ves is one foot taller than Tara, who’s most likely not a five-footer woman, he recognized her immediately because of Tara’s cold gaze and commanding tone that intimidated him.
Tara may look like a teenager because of her young appearance and height but the aura exuding her can’t be amiss as an alpha.
Ves knows that Tara was observing him while they’re having an afternoon tea, and unlike Peter who was pretending to be well-behaved, he showed a relax expression on his face.
“Tara likes you.” Stefani said as soon as the car reached the gate of the villa. “She wants to have a meal with you alone next time.”
“Damned!” Peter smacked the steering wheel. “Savelo set her eyes on Ves?!” he glanced at Stefani from the rearview mirror. “I don’t know if I should congratulate or say my condolences to you Ves.”
“I’m not interested.” Ves said flatly. “Please help me to refuse her offer, Stefani.”
“I’m afraid that’s not up to you to accept or reject her.” Stefani replied with a hint of warning.
“Is she really that persistent?” Ves keep his eyes on the road while thinking of ways to avoid Tara at all cost.
“Let’s just say that her motto in life is ‘what Tara wants, Tara gets’. She sees men either enemies or objects, I don’t know if it’s fortunate that she categorized you as the latter but at least she doesn’t despise you.” Stefani responded.
“I rather be seen as an intangible object if that’s the case, since I don’t like to her enemy either.” Ves stated candidly.
“Well it’s your fault for being young, smart, and handsome. You’re Tara’s ideal type and most likely her prospect to be the father of her child and your child with her.” Stefani teased.
“I really should run away from her even though I can’t hide. There’s no way I will make her fantasy real, I can only be a father of my wife’s child and absolutely it’s not her.” Ves outrightly refused and shook his head vigorously to deny.
“Hahaha!” Peter laughed at Ves’ misfortune. “Savelo ain’t that bad, though she’s small she’s big on the right places. I can even imagine her big breasts bouncing up and down while I’m thrusting inside her beautiful ass. Although I know it’ll never happen in a million years but there’s nothing wrong having a wild and wet dream.”
Stefani just laughed at Peter’s wishful thinking while Ves was utterly disappointed on how Peter’s mind is full of s*x,
After two hours’ drive from the Savelo villa at Puebla the trio arrived at Mexico City where Ronson’s mansion is located.
Finally taking rest while waiting for the boss’ orders.
Meanwhile in Seoul, at the South Mansion of the Nevaeh Residences in Gangnam district.
Hestia is about to start her day, she’s usually in high spirits on Fridays but since she found out that the last present that her paternal grandmother was stolen by the people she used to admire before, she became grumpy all the time.
“Who put the honey on my fruity pancake?” Hestia questioned with a frown. “It already has whipped cream on it. Do you want me to have a diabetes?!” she roared like a dragon breathing fire.
“Apologies, Miss Hestia. I’ll make new fruity pancakes without honey, right away.” Roro took the rejected pancakes away and when she’s about to hurry back to the kitchen Hestia’s father spoke to her.
“Roro give it to me. I think I need something sweet for breakfast today.” Cronus gestured to his butler to take away the vegetable salad in front of him and replace it with the poor pancakes.
Rhea raised her eyebrows on her husband and Cronus just shrugged before he took his first bite.
Rhea then turn her gaze to Hestia who’s currently reading the newspaper, ever since they announced to the public that ‘Pink Magic’ is missing, her daughter becomes interested with reading the newspaper, probably hoping for any improvement with the case since the media has been releasing news about the progress.
Though they’re receiving timely updates from the investigators they hired, some speculations might give a hint to solve the case.
“Tia, would you like to accompany me on shopping this afternoon?”
“I can’t Ma. I have a lot of pending work in the office. My superior must favor me that much, I’m the only one she sees.” Hestia sarcastically replied without looking at Rhea.
“Are you having a hard time in the institution Tia, do you want Papa to fix it for you?” Cronus asked with a cold gaze, he won’t let anyone give his baby girl a hard time.
“No, Pa. I can handle it. It’s part of my career improvement anyway. Also, if my colleagues find out that I’m using your connection to have an easy life in the office then I’ll be criticized by the public. I don’t want that so don’t make trouble for me.”
Cronus, “…” he can’t refute his daughter’s words because she has a point everybody’s a critic, but he’s father doting at his baby girl.
“Let it be.” Rhea hold Cronus hand and gave it a squeeze. “She’s old enough to handle her own affairs. Let’s just support her.”
“But …” Cronus lowered his voice. “Tia might be bullied by her superior, are we just letting our baby girl suffer?”
“I can hear you Pa.” Hestia put down the newspaper and look at Cronus. “Rest assure that I’m not being bullied by anyone at work. I’m your daughter who will have the audacity to bully me?”
“That’s my girl!” Cronus said proudly. “Always remember that, you’re a Nevaeh, no one can step on you.”
“I know Pa.” Hestia smiled faintly at her father before she turned to her mother sitting across her. “By the way Ma, I don’t want to go to the matchmaking date tomorrow.”
“Don’t push it Tia.” Rhea’s smile turned into a scowl. “I already arranged it with the Nam family, we can’t back out now.”
“But Ma, that guy has a girlfriend don’t make me get in between their relationship.” Hestia blurted out a lie.
“Nice try Tia, I know you just made that up. Joo-hyuk told me himself that he’s looking forward to meet you. Do you think a man in love with a girl will say it with expectant look in his eyes?”
“Maybe he just said it out of courtesy or maybe he’s just acting.”
Rhea shook her head in disagreement, “Tia, I’m more experienced than you when it comes to dealing with people. I’m a mother of six children with different personalities but I always know when something is up with one of you. I always get you all caught behind whatever façade you’ve put upfront, so you think I can be easily fooled by anyone?”
“I’m hungry.” Hestia changed the subject immediately. “Is Roro not done yet with my breakfast? How do you expect me to start my day with just milk??” she vented out her frustration to her attendants since she can’t win the argument with her mother.
“Sharon is with Roro, they’ll be here in a few minutes, Miss Hestia.” Irene pacified Hestia.
“Five minutes, if they don’t serve my breakfast within five minutes then tell them not to eat the whole day.” Hestia grumpily ordered.
“Yes, Miss Hestia.” Irene is about to follow the two to the kitchen when Roro finally walked in to the dining area. “You’re safe.”
Roro knows exactly what Irene means, she strode towards Hestia and served the freshly cooked pancakes with whipped cream and berries on top without the honey this time. “Miss Hestia, your fruity pancake. It’s still hot so be careful.”
“Yeah I can see that the whipped cream is melting, I have eyes Roro.” Hestia sarcastically replied.
Roro could only sigh inwardly, Hestia isn’t usually cranky but she and the others have to make do with mood for now since they all know how devasted Hestia is because of her stolen necklace.
An hour later, after arriving at the institute where Hestia works as the psychometrician and one of the assistants to the psychologist with a master’s and doctor’s degree, another pile of research paper awaiting on Hestia’s desk.
“Shall I accept Papa’s offer now? It’ll be easier for me to survive this job with his intervention.” Hestia muttered as she sat down on her brown leather armchair that Hearthof gave her when the latter insisted to renovate her office after his first visit.
Hestia didn’t want to change anything in her small assistant office at all since she always thought that she’ll be quitting the job sooner after Ves got scouted in America but unexpectedly she keeps her post but still the idea of resigning remains.
Although her office is more extravagant than the director’s office because of the wallpapers and the luxurious furniture in it, her position as the assistant is evidently on her table.
Technically as the daughter of the president of the listed company in the country, Hestia doesn’t have to work hard at all, she can just stay at home and ask for money to her parents without putting so much effort since she’s the apple of his father’s eyes, regardless of their family rule that they have to provide for themselves after graduating college.
But Hestia has to prove her worth to everyone specially to Ves.
She wants to be recognized by her ability and not just the granddaughter of a legendary businessman or the youngest daughter of the construction company president.
She wants to make a name for herself just like her cousins and siblings who excels in their chosen careers specifically her oldest brother, Zeus, who’s a genius and chose electronics engineer as his profession since he likes inventing things since childhood.
Although she chose psychology at first because she wanted to be in the same college with Ves, she later realized that she really wanted program she took as psychology is the science of mind and behavior which includes the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena, including feelings and thoughts.
Hestia’s reason for choosing psychology became more in-depth and not just because of following her best friend’s steps, she wants to understand the role of mental functions in individual and social behavior to turn her whys to because.
But because she doesn’t like socializing that much and an introvert type of person, observing people needs interaction, thus she rather deals with numbers that concerned with the objective measurement of latent constructs that cannot be directly observed, a psychometrician instead of a psychologist.
She’s carefree with her family and real friends but she’s a shy person to everyone else, that no matter how much she struggles in a situation she’ll just keep her thoughts to herself.
It was lunchbreak and as usual no one bothered to ask Hestia to have lunch together, everyone knows who she is and most of them thinks that she’s a hypocrite, pretending to be someone ordinary without concealing how rich she is.
Well she’s driving a conspicuous fuchsia Porsche and have eight attendants that always follows her wherever she goes, aside from the fact that she rarely wears branded clothing and accessories because all her clothes are customized.
“Miss Hestia, are you certain that you want to have lunch in this shop?” Edith asked anxiously because the place looks like going to collapse at any moment.
“Remember this ramen shop?” Hestia isn’t bothered about her ladies concerned. “Ves and I used to have noodles here in high school. He took me here every Friday. It’s Friday today, shall we all have ramen for lunch?”
“Is the restaurant still operating?” Baby whispered to Sharon.
“There’s an open sign on the door so I guess they’re still taking customers in.” Sharon replied as she looked around the area.
Irene pushed the door opened first and see that there are still people eating in the restaurant and the interior isn’t the bad as she thought it’ll be. “Imo! Table for 1 and 8 please.”
“Just sit wherever you like this isn’t a fine dine-in restaurant!” the old woman responded while busying herself with cooking.
“Still not friendly to customers Mrs. Kang.” Roro teased. “Look how old you become because you’re always grumpy.”
“Who are you saying old?!” Mrs. Kang turned around and look at Roro closely. “Kim Roro?? Is that really you? Hahaha you look exactly like your mother when she’s at your age!”
“Yes, it’s me Mrs. Kim.” Roro noticed something. “Uh, look out!”
