Casey's P.O.V
As the day went by, Jake was in three other classes with me, math, languages and gym. I kept feeling him staring at me and it was starting to get uncomfortable. At the end of school, I hurried to get to Katherine's truck, but Jake cut me off standing in front of me.
"I'm sorry I creeped you out today, I just think you're beautiful and I was wondering if you would go out with me Saturday night?" Jake said, I stood there with my mouth dropped open, but I quickly closed it, embarrassed.
"Listen, please do not mess with my head, I know I'm not beautiful. I'm not skinny and I don't put out, so you might be able to try with the other females around here." I replied, but he looked stunned and started shaking his head.
"I'm not after that, I just wanted to get to know you." Jake said, shocking me.
"I'm sorry I have to go." I said, shaking my head and walking away from him, getting in the truck with Katherine. We drove off and headed back to my house, but when we pulled up there were cop cars all around and there was some weird yellow tape saying caution on it around four trees, keeping everyone out. I jumped out of the truck and started running up to the house, an officer tried to stop me, but I ducked under his arms and ran inside the house.
"MOM, DAD, WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU OKAY? PLEASE ANSWER ME, PLEASE!" I yelled, looking around upstairs and running back down towards the family room, stopping dead in my tracks. The room was covered in blood and in the middle of the floor lay my mom and dad, soaked in their own blood.
"MOM! DAD! PLEASE GET UP! PLEASE WAKE UP! PLEASE I NEED YOU! PLEASE GET UP! PLEASE! PLEASE! DON'T DO THIS! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" I screamed, running over to them and dropping to my knees.
Katherine's P.O.V
I sat in my truck with the door open, looking around at everything that was going on, when suddenly I heard a high pitched, blood curdling scream.
"Casey." I thought, jumping out of my truck and running into the house after her, shocked when I found her kneeling beside her parent's dead bodies. I kneeled beside her, holding her tightly and rocking her back and forth.
"Casey honey, their gone baby girl." I whispered to her.
"NO PLEASE NO!" Casey screamed out, as she cried hard. I tried to hide my own tears, trying to stay strong for her.
"Casey sweetie, we need to move so they can look for evidence honey." I whispered again and after a while I finally managed Casey to come away from her parent's side. I held her hand trying to get her up and she crawled over to her mom and dad, kissing their cheeks, crying and leaving her tears on their faces. I held her tight, as we walked out the door. I took Casey over to the bench at the front of the house and sat her down, she was in so much shock that I don't think she realised that she was covered in blood. We watched for hours as policemen and women walked in and out of the house, carrying things in bags.
"Why are they taking things? What are they doing?" Casey asked me, her eyes still slightly glazed over.
"There taking evidence sweetie, it's alright, there trying to figure out what happened to them." I said, softly to her, holding her hand and stroking her hair. A few hours later and a car pulled up, with a tall man, dressed in black getting out. He was the one to pronounce them dead, they pulled out two gurney's and took them into the house.
"Sweetie, sweetie, come on it's okay." I said, trying to hold Casey back, but before I could take her to the truck, they came out of the house, pushing the gurneys to the car and Casey ran over to them.
"Let me see my parents one more time." Casey pleaded with them, but an officer walked over and put her arm around her.
"Miss, please, we can't, I'm sorry." A policeman said, but Casey pushed him away and removed the sheet from her mother's face.
"OH GOD NO!!" Casey screamed, crying and dropping to her knees. I ran over to her, kneeling down beside her and holding her tightly.
"Hurry and go." I said, not wanting Casey to endure anymore pain and heartache.
