Chapter 6 new friend

Katherine's P.O.V   Becky looked over at Casey and started sniffing even more. Thank God Casey wasn't looking up, I'm not sure how I would explain that one.   "You brought a human here, to the pack house. Are you crazy? Alpha Ron is going to have your head, father or not." Becky mind-linked me, but I gently shook my head and rolled my eyes at her.   "Dad already knows and is perfectly fine with it. She found her parents murdered today, so she's staying here for as long as she wants to. Calm down." I said, mind-linking her back and closing the link down before she could reply. Becky looked at Casey and her eyes showed sadness, as she walked over and sat down next to Casey.   Casey's P.O.V    "Hi, my name's Becky, it's nice to meet you. I hear you're going to be staying with us, welcome to the family." Becky said, holding out her hand to me, I smiled and shook it. The first thing that hit me with Becky were her eyes, they were a beautiful bright green and with her having dark hair it really brought them out. To look at her I would say she was about 5.3, she was a little on the big side, but it was just baby fat and we all went through that at some point, but she was really pretty.   "Thank you, it's nice to meet you too." I replied, I stayed there for a while longer, but I could feel my tears starting to come back and made an excuse to leave.   "I'm just going to head up to my room and unpack my things." I said, I know it was a slight lie because I had already unpacked the one bag, but I didn't want them to see me crying again. I left the living room and walked quickly back to the bedroom, closing the door behind me. I got in here just in time, because as soon as I had closed the door my tears started falling again. I leaned back against the door, gasping for air with each tear taking my breath away. Everyone seemed really nice here, but this wasn't my home, my home was with my parents and now that they are gone I don't have a home. I walked over to my unopened bag and placed it on the bed, pulling out all the pictures of me with my family. I hung them up on the bare wall opposite my bed, I pulled my pillow and blanket out, placing them over the bed. I know that Kacey and Ron said to make myself feel at home, but this wasn't my home and this wasn't my room, I just felt like I was a guest here. I would probably feel different after some time, but it hadn't even been a day yet and I just needed time to adjust to everything.   "Maybe I should go to school tomorrow, it might take my mind off things, after I could get a taxi to my house and take a look around, make sure it hasn't been ransacked." I said out loud to myself, I'll let Katherine know tomorrow what I plan to do. I felt like I needed to go back, even if it was for one last time and I could get the rest of my clothes as well. I lay down on the bed and pulled my blanket over me,  the scent of home was on it and it comforted me, as I drifted off to sleep.   I must have been more tired than what I first thought because I slept for eighteen hours straight and when I woke up the next day school had already started and finished. I sat on the side of the bed and stretched, I still felt exhausted, but I was hungry now. I got up, took a quick shower, dried off and got dressed, heading downstairs to the kitchen.   "Hello sleepy head, how did you sleep?" Kacey asked me, smiling.    "I guess I was more tired than I thought I was, but I slept okay." I replied, slightly yawning.   "It's not surprising, you had one hell of a shock yesterday and it took a toll on you. Sleep will do you good, how do you feel now?" Kacey said, making a cup of tea for me.   "I feel quite good actually, but i am a bit hungry." I replied and Kacey clapped her hands together, like it was a miracle or something.   "That's great news, sit your pretty self there and I'll make you something to eat." Kacey said, pointing to the stool by the table and walking over to the fridge. I sat down with my cup of tea, while Kacey started humming to herself, while cooking. Thirty minutes later and Kacey came over with plate after plate of food, it was like she had cooked for the whole town instead of just one person and there was no way I was going to be able to eat all of this.   "It's okay, just eat what you like and whatever you don't want just leave, trust me it won't go to waste in this house." Kacey said, laughing. She must have sensed my apprehension about all the food in front of me, but as soon as she said that I started eating little bits from here and there, until I was full. I leaned back in my chair, rubbing my stomach, but when I looked at the plates I had barely made a dent in them and there's still loads left.   "How do you feel now?" Kacey asked me, sitting down next to me with another cup of tea.   "I'm sorry I couldn't eat more, I'm just really full, but everything was lovely, thank you." I replied, feeling guilty at all the work Kacey had done.   "Dont worry about it, I love cooking and like I said it wont go to waste. I'm just glad that you have finally eaten something." Kacey replied, smiling.   "Here come and stand over here and watch this." Kacey said, standing up from the table and walking over to the far side of the kitchen, I followed her curious as to what she was going to show me.    "Dinners ready!" Kacey yelled, we waited a few seconds and that's when I heard it, it sounded like a stampede was heading straight for us.
