Chapter 9Kent paced the lobby, checking the time every few seconds. It had been over an hour since he’d left Jordan’s office and he was beginning to wonder if the man was blowing him off, despite his promise.
“He hadn’t better. He’s working for me,” he said angrily under his breath. He was aware that wasn’t the only reason he’d be upset if it happened. He’d come to rely on Jordan to keep him from going off the deep end with fear for Kelly. Despite Jordan’s harsh demeanor most of the time, he was able to calm Kent with his mere presence.
