Chapter 4A week after his run-in with Jordan, Kent decided the man was purposely avoiding the street where he parked while waiting for Kelly, despite the fact that Jordan had said he’d be ‘keeping an eye’ on him. If he was doing that, and Kent had no doubt he was, he’d stayed well out of sight. By now he’s probably decided I’m exactly what I said and following me, or whatever, isn’t necessary any more.
“You’re being quiet,” Kelly said on the drive home Friday evening. She shot him a questioning look. “Did you see Dangerous Man again?”
“Yeah, right. If I had I’d tell you, you know that. As a matter of fact, I was wondering why I haven’t seen him in over a week.”
“He offed the man he was after and had to leave town.”
