MEET AND GREET

Sebatian'S POV The sun shone through the windows, breaking my not so peaceful sleep. The moment I opened my eyes, I was hit with the worst head ache I ever experienced. I looked up to check the time to see that I had slept away almost half the day. We had to be at Alpha Arlo's pack half past noon, and it was almost noon. I quickly got up to freshen up and head for the territory, but regretted it the moment I took my first step. My head ached with pain, almost numbing my other senses.  I had never been in such a condition. Memories of last night filled my mind, making me sit back on my bed. My soulmate didn't want me. The one person made just for me, the one person for whom I've been waiting for centuries, ran away, not even sparing me a glance.   After he ran away from there, I drowned myself in liquor. Even Sophie and Carla found their mates last night. He was of a high rank, most likely a beta or a gamma.   Stopping myself from falling into a dark place, I freshened up to leave along with Chris to Alpha Arlo's pack. We hardly had fifteen minutes in hand, so running in our wolf forms would be better and less time consuming. Packing myself a duffel bag, I headed towards Chris' room.   .  .  .  'What happened last night?' Chris' voice echoed in my mind, while we were running through the woods. Whenever I ran I hated mind linking with anyone. My wolf was not happy either. He was sulking since yesterday.  'I met my mate'  Before I knew what was happening, I heard a whining sound only to look back and find Chris' deep brown wolf, tripped on a branch.   'What's the matter' I asked him. He was slowing us down.  'You met your mate and did not even think it was necessary to inform me, your brother?' he asked.  'We don't have time right now, we'll talk about this later. Now let's go.' Saying so I once again pushed my legs forward, we are already ten minutes late, and judging by the reputation of Alpha Arlo, he wouldn't be very pleased. . . . As soon as we reached the borders of the pack, Caspian started getting agitated once again. That smell, it was here, mate was here. We weren't informed that other Alphas were going to be hear too.  We quickly shifted and followed the guard, all this while Caspian urged me to go find my mate. After walking for few minutes, we reached the pack house, and there we were instructed on how to reach the Alpha's office. The closer we got to the office, the stronger the scent got, in fact it was lingering in the hallways. I quickly masked my scent, a trick I learned from from my father.  We came and stood in front of the office, and there were two heartbeats inside. Caspian was desperately trying to take control, to mark him, in case he tries to run away again.  We did not knock, as they already heard us, and opened the door. As soon as I opened the door, my eyes met with his beautiful green orbs. Like the forest surrounding us. Long eyelashes, creating shadows on his sharp cheekbones. Plump kissable lips, temping me to capture them with my own. Long story short, he is the most beautiful man I have encountered, and living for three centuries, I have encountered a lot of men. My gaze snapped towards the she wolf, who had her arms around his neck, standing behind him, while he was sitting. Rage bubbled inside me at the sight of some filthy she wolf touching my mate. "Leave", I ordered the she wolf using my Alpha tone. Being the future King she had no option other than submitting. I asked Chris to leave along with her.  Once they left, my gaze met his again, all thoughts of him running out yesterday gone. This time his face was blank, devoid of the shock which was plastered when I first came in. I was about to approach him, when he told me to sit down. "We have some business regarding the rogues, I think?" he asked, in a professional tone. Even though his voice was clipped, it was the most beautiful sound I ever heard. I must have been staring for a long time, for him to clear his throat with an annoyed look plastered on his face.  "Mate", I said. "No, business", he stated back. Although it hurt me, completing our discussion and then talking about us would be a smarter decision. Even after two hours, we hadn't come to any conclusion. The reasons being, one he was not moving from his point, he would kill all the rogues, and two, I couldn't stop staring at him.  "It was a pleasure to have you, seeing that we can not come to any conclusion, it's better you take leave now." His voice was polite yet demanded attention. He was not wrong. I decided to let go of the matter and talk about us. "Any ways, we should talk about us." Although my voice did not waver, I was extremely nervous on the inside. I was relieved to see him nod his head. The relief very quickly vanished and turned into despair. "I want to have nothing to do with you.Hence it's better you stop trying." As soon as he finished his sentence, Caspian howled inside me, heart broken at the fact that his mate doesn't want him. Three centuries, I have waited for more than three centuries for this person who is sitting in front of me. There is absolutely no way, I'm letting him go out of my grasp. "There is no way I'm leaving without having a decent conversation about us." Saying so I leaned back on the chair, while my hand were folded together on my lap.  I could see him losing his calm composure, although not in the way I wanted too. He was getting irritated. "Get out of my territory, prince or not I do not care." He wasn't fuming, instead he just calmly stated, which was worse. "We are mates, you have to accept me." The desperation could be heard, even though my face was masked from any emotion. What happened next was something which hasn't occurred in thousands of years. "I, Alpha Arlo of Ceaser pack, reject you Prince Sebastian as my mate" . . .
