“I owe you big time,” Ava said into her phone as she made her way to Marcus’s apartment the following night. “No worries,” Molly replied. “I’m pretty sure I’m as excited as you are for your big date tonight, so I’m doing us both a favor, really.” The favor she was referring to was covering for Ava because the twins and her parents thought she was eating dinner and staying over at Molly’s. The second part was true, at least―Ava was intending to sleep over at her friend’s place, although Molly seemed to think, or at least was hoping, there was a chance that Ava wouldn’t be leaving Marcus’s apartment until the next morning.
