Ava was running on one of the three treadmills in the open gym area on the third floor when she saw Marcus and Silas walking her way. She took it as a sign to end her workout. Even after nearly two years, seeing the man who used to be her mate sent pain coursing through her body and caused her heart to drop down to the floor. So, this was how Ava dealt with it―fleeing as soon as she saw him so that she didn’t have to endure the pain for longer than necessary.
