Darcy had a plan when he left the house in the morning. He wanted to surprise Nyra with a day out which would be their first date. He didn't want to rely on the mate bond to have a relationship with Nyra.
The mate bond acted as a catalyst but it was them who had to make the effort towards their own future. Darcy was willing to do his best to make Nyra happy.
However, all his plans were crushed when he reached her doorstep and heard from Nana Linda that Nyra had a high fever.
Wasn't she just fine when he texted her in the morning? They even chatted for a little bit. Darcy was distressed for Nyra. Did she pretend to be fine so he wouldn't worry? No wonder she told him not to call and made an excuse that she would be busy.
