Here We Go

chapter 2

In my apartment overlooking Malibu I watched the sun rise. I kicked out the guy I slept with last night hours ago. I still don't know his name but he gave me his number. I looked at all the paperwork that Ben gave me and then sighed.

Looking down at my hand I opened my palm and a flame appeared. I closed my palm and the light of it disappeared. Doing that a couple of times I finally got up the courage to open the window. "Here we go." I whispered. I glanced over at the table where my leather jacket was and used the wind to make it come to me. Then I jumped out the window and used the wind to fly.

Landing on the Meta-transport ship, sitting in the middle of the ocean, I watched as all the agents were walking by doing their jobs as I straightened up my jacket. "Glad you could make it." Ben said coming up to me. "Yeah thanks." I said putting my hands in my pockets and looking around.

"The captain and Mark Campbell are over there they just arrived as well. I already gave everyone who’s supposed to be on the team your file. Ames needs me inside, I'll see you later okay?" He said pointing to a really tall and fit man that I've seen on the files and a less fit nervous looking one beside him looking around. Ben patted me on the back and I nodded my head at him as he walked away.

Might as well introduce myself to everyone. I walked over to them calmly with my hands still in my pockets. They didn't notice me yet because they were facing away from me. "Bailey, surprised to see you here." Alexandra said coming up to me before I made it to the boys.

"Hey Lexi long time no see. Carter talked me into coming." I said shrugging. She nodded at me. "Did you hear about Jake?" She said. She was talking about how Eris used the Messer Cube to control Jakes mind and made him go with her. "I read about it on the file...We're gonna get him back Lexi." I said. "Yeah...it's good to have you back Bailey." She said patting my back. I nodded at her and smiled. "Come on let me introduce you to the boys." She said nodding her head in the captain and Mark Campbells direction.

We walked over to them as they still had their back turned away. "Captain, Mark I'd like to introduce you to Bailey Bolton." Alexandra said and they turned to look at us in surprise. "Nice to meet you mam." The captain said holding out his hand. "You can call me Bailey, Captain." I said shaking his hand. "And you can call me James ma-Bailey." He said catching himself. I then turned and shook Marks hand.

"You're the owner of 'B corporations' right?" Mark asked. "Yes I am." I said smiling politely. "Wow it's a huge honor to meet you. I love your work with the diseases and health problems, especially cancer and scoliosis it's truly remarkable." Mark said. "I agree with Campbell you are truly inspiring. I'm a fan of how you help the homeless and orphans and I've seen you on the field it's truly impressive." James said. "Thank you." I said.

I was going to say more but that was when Alexandra stepped up from just watching us. "Gentleman you may want to step inside in a minute. It's gonna get a little hard to breathe." Alexandra said. I already knew what was about to happen when the Meta-transport started to shake and everyone was rushing to get to their places.

I stepped beside Lexi putting my hands in my pockets and looking at the curious two men in front of me as they moved toward the side. "Is this a submarine?" James asked us. "Really? They want me to be under water?" Mark said. Alexandra and I didn't answer.

Suddenly the giant machine fans lifted out of the water pulling the meta-transport up in the air so we are flying. "Oh no this is much better." Mark said smiling sarcastically. "Just like old times." I said to Alex grinning. She grinned back at me knowingly before we led the boys inside.
