Here We Go

chapter 4

I sat beside Lexi on the way back. Everyone stayed quiet except for the little awkward conversation James is having with Marcus. All the while I could feel Marcus’s eyes on the back of my head but I didn't turn around. And the creepy part is I could feel Eris’s eyes on me too. Evil Goddess staring at me, that's a new one.

I kept trying to think. I knew Marcus was suppose to come, I just was hoping he wouldn't. I never thought about how I would deal with him. What am I supposed to do? I haven't seen him in so long and I hate him for what he did. And what's up with him? He actually hugged me. Is he putting on a show or something and then when we're alone he'll go back to normal? It doesn't matter to me but I still want to know his game plan.

Suddenly thunder and lighting came out of nowhere. Lexi was focusing on staying in control of the plane. "Where's this coming from?" She asked. I looked back to see Eris looking up seeming worried. "What's wrong? Scared of the weather?" James said to her. "I'm not happy of what comes after." Eris said.

Suddenly there was a bang on the roof and everyone looked up. Marcus opened the hatch to see what it was. That's when someone flew into the plane and walked over to Loki. Enyo, I realized. Marcus tried to get in the way with his metal suit on but Enyo just hit him with her hammer sending Marcus flying back. Then Enyo grabbed Eris and dragged her out of the plane and they disappeared in the storm. I have to talk to her.

I got out of my seat walking past Marcus who was getting up and then walked past James about to jump out after them when he grabbed my shoulder. "Wait what are you doing?" James asked. "Going to have a talk with an old friend Captain." I said patting him on the shoulder and then jumping out before anyone could protest.

I followed Enyo and Eris and saw them on the side of a mountain talking. I landed near them but they didn't notice. "Where is the Messer Cube?" Enyo asked seeming angry and frustrated. "Getting straight to the point. No hello." Eris said laughing. "I’m serious. Do I look like I’m playing around?" Enyo asked. "Oh you should thank me. With the Tritell gone how much energy did the mighty Zeus have to use to bring you here? Your precious humanity" Eris said.

Enyo’s face fell. "I thought you were dead." She said. "Did you mourn?" Eris asked. "We all did. Our father..." Enyo said. "You're father. He did tell you of where I came from did he not?" Eris asked. "We were raised together, we leaned together, we fought together. Does that mean nothing to you?" Enyo asked. I still watched them debating if I should say anything or not. Eh I'll let them continue.

"I remember being invisible. Living in your shadow. I remember you tossing me into darkness. I was and should be Queen!" Eris said. Wow someone's really obsessed with power. "So you take the world I care about as revenge for your false fantasies. No, I protect this place, Eris." Enyo said.

"And you're doing a wonderful job with that. The humans slaughter each other by the millions, while you stand by. I will command them. And why should I not?" Eris said. "You think yourself better than them?" Enyo asked. "Well, yes." Eris said. "Then you know nothing of how to rule, sister. You’re not fit to command." Enyo said. I agree with Enyo on that one.

"I've seen things you've never known about! I have grown, in my exile! I have seen the true power of the Messer Cube, and when I wield it..." Eris said. "Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be ruler?" Enyo asked.

"I am a Queen!" Eris said. "Not here! You give up the Messer Cube! You give up this poisonous fantasy! You come with me to our home." Enyo said. "I don't have it. You need the cube to bring me home, but I've sent it off. I know not where." Eris said shrugging. "You hear me well sister, I-" and that's when Enyo got hit flying and hitting the forest below the mountain.

"I'm listening." Eris said sarcastically to no one. I walked up to where Eris was and she finally noticed me and smirked. I looked off to where Enyo went and saw her fighting below with Marcus. Oh great. I sighed. "Ugh men. Stay here or I'll kick your ass." I said to Eris. She held her hands up in mock surrender and I glared at her before flying down to Marcus and Enyo.

"What shakespeare play did you come from?" I heard Marcus say. Oh boy. "This is beyond you tin man. Eris will face Olympian justice." Enyo said. "She gives us the cube she's all yours, until then you back off...tourist." Marcus said. I landed on the ground a few feet away from them just in time to see Enyo throw her hammer at Marcus who was walking away and made him fly into a tree and snap it in half.

"Well that had to hurt." I said smirking but they either didn't hear me or ignored me. "Alright.” Marcus said.

Enyo raises her hand and her hammer flies back to her. She swings it, summoning a ray of energy while Marcus stands up and from his hand he shoots Enyo with a beam knocking her down. Marcus then flies up and knocks Enyo into a tree.

Enyo, kneeling on the ground, pulls her weapon to her hand, raising it to the skies and pulls in lightning and thunder. I really wish I had popcorn right now. I should stop this right...right? Nah. Enyo points the hammer at Marcus and shots of lighting hit him. Marcus falls back with streams of electricity glitching all over the suit.

"Power increase 500% ." I heard an electronic voice say inside Marcus’s suit. "Well then." Marcus said. He then shoots Enyo with a bigger beam causing her to fly back. I kept watching as they fought longer going back and forth it was very funny I couldn't help but like when Marcus got hit. I noticed Eris watching from the mountain amused. At least she did what I told her to.

Suddenly James walked up beside me and looked at the scene. "Why haven't you stopped this yet?" He said out of breathe. "It's fun to watch and besides why not let them get it out of their systems now." I said shrugging. "I think they've done enough damage it’s time for them to stop before they kill each other." James said and walked closer to them. He jumped on a fallen tree to get over to them and put his shield in his hand.

"Hey! That's enough!" He yelled and they stopped and looked at him. James stepped out of the tree and faced Enyo. "Now, I don't know what you’re doing here." James said. "I've come here to put an end to Eris’s games!" Enyo said frustrated. "then prove it! Put the weapon down." James said.

"yeah, no! She won’t listen to-!" Marcus started to say when Enyo hits him with the hammer really fast sending him into a boulder. I busted out laughing at that. "You want me to put the hammer down?" She asked getting mad. She leaps forward ready to strike with the hammer and James crouches down and holds up his shield just as Enyo brings it down onto the shield causing a shockwave that knocks everything down around them. As soon as I saw it coming I used the Earth and air to hold me still.

Enyo gets knocked to the ground but slowly gets back up breathing heavy just as Marcus gets up and looks around at the damage. James stood up from the ground not even affected. "Are we done here?" James asked. "I hope so I'm starting to get bored of all this drama." I said walking up to them.

Enyo immediately recognized me. "Lady Bailey I did not know you were here."She said. "Hi Enyo." I said smirking. "You two know each other?" James asked. "Yeah a couple years ago Iron Arm asked me to help out when they were getting strange weather and had a strange weapon that no one could lift. I met Enyo there. Didn't stick around long though I had work to do with my company." I said. "Since when did you work for Iron Arm?" Marcus asked squinting his eyes at me. "A while back. Hey Lexi can you land? I think we're all ready to go here." I said from my earpiece.
