Three days later, Jack woke up in a hospital downtown; he looked around, and everywhere was blurring. He struggles to stand to his feet but one of the nurses rushed and held him down, “You have to relax,” the nurse said with a smile, helping Jack to support his back with a pillow. “Where am I and where is the Sheriff?” Jack asked the nurse. “I am sorry but you need to rest,” the nurse answered. After hours of Jack trying to play along with the nurses and the doctor, he decided to escape from the hospital. Reaching the exit door, he saw a man and woman standing across the other side of the road staring at him. Jack quickly waved down a taxi and jumped into it as he kept looking at the man and the woman who stare at him in a strange way. “Did you see the way they were looking at us?” Jack asked the taxi driver. “Who are you talking about boy?” the taxi driver asked Jack. “Them!” Jack said as he pointed at the man and the woman but before he could turn in that direction, the man and the woman were gone. “You must be hallucinating boy.” The taxi driver said. The taxi driver dropped Jack at the Sheriff’s station as Jack slowly walks into the station; he noticed that the feds have taken over the station. He quickly stood close to the counter and asked one of the deputies, “Why is the FBI here?” “Things got weird three days ago and the feds decided to help out,” the deputy replied. “Where is the Sheriff?” Jack asked. “Sorry boy but the Sheriff is off duty for now,” the deputy answered. “He talks insane and the feds decided to cut him off the case,” the deputy replied. “What do you mean he talks insane?” Jack asked the deputy. “He was hallucinating and led half of the deputies to s*******r claiming an unknown creature devoured them, and he also claimed that the cabin in the woods can speak,” the deputy narrated. “Oh s**t!” Jack exclaims as he falls backward with two steps. “This s**t is f*****g real,” Jack added. “It’s not a dream,” Jack said as he slapped himself. “What s**t is real?” the deputy asked but Jack ignored him and took off. Jack quickly stopped another taxi, “Where to?” the Taxi driver asked Jack. “St. Louis Lane,” Jack replied. “Buckle up!” the taxi driver said with a smile as he zoomed off. Minutes later, Jack gently walks down from the taxi and headed to the entrance door of the Sherriff’s apartment in St. Louis Lane as he rang the bell, “ding dong!” The Sheriff answered the door, seeing Jack he wanted to shut the door but Jack waged the door with his foot. “We need to talk Sheriff,” Jack said. “There is nothing to talk about,” the Sheriff answered. “Shouldn’t you be lying in your hospital bed?” the Sheriff asked Jack. “Just let me through,” Jack politely demanded. “You only have two minutes,” the Sheriff said as he opened the door. “Where is Clara?” Jack asked. “Everyone thinks am crazy,” the Sheriff answered. “Did you remember anything from the woods?” the Sheriff asked Jack. “Would I be asking about Clara if I don’t remember s**t?” Jack replied. “Where is she?” Jack asked the Sheriff. “I know no s**t!” the Sheriff answered. “All you do is to know s**t,” Jack said. “You will help me find her,” Jack added. “I am off the case,” the Sheriff replied. “The feds have taken over the case!” the Sheriff added. “To hell with the feds!” Jack said. “Shhhh!” the Sheriff signaled Jack to hush. “Don’t hush me!” Jack said. “You need to keep it low,” the Sheriff whispered. “Why are you whispering?” Jack asked. “We are not alone,” the Sheriff replied. “Are you serious?” Jack asked. “I need to grab my revolver,” the Sheriff said. “Looking for this?” the woman who dragged Clara out from the patrol car asked the Sheriff from behind. As the Sheriff and Jack quickly turned to know who was speaking they saw the woman. “I know her,” Jack said. “She has been starring at me with a man,” Jack added. “I also saw her in the woods,” the Sheriff whispered. “Where is your boyfriend?” the Sheriff asked the woman. “Looking for me?” the man said as he walks out scratching the walls with his claws. “s**t!” Jack exclaimed. “Is that claws?” Jack asked. “If you can see it no need to ask,” the Sheriff whispers to Jack as he quickly beckons on Jack to Run. “Run Jack! Run!” The Sheriff yells as they both took to their heels. The man and the woman ran after them. As they were heading towards the stairs, the man jumped in front of them, “You have nowhere to run to,” the man said while looking at Jack. “Just like your old friend, Mr. Philip,” the man added. “It was you!” Jack said. “You killed Mr. Philip,” Jack added. “And you are about to die like him,” the woman cuts in. “Not on my watch,” the Sheriff said. “You two know too much,” the woman said as she brought out her claws. “Bang! Bang!” shots fired, as the body of the man and the woman thuds on the floor. Jack and the Sheriff looked around as they both saw a young man with a shotgun. “Who the hell are you?” Jack asked the young man. “You are welcome for saving your damn a*s,” the young man replied. “Anyways, I am Stone,” the young man introduces himself to Jack and the Sheriff as he stretched out his hand for a shake. “What kind of man answers Stone?” the Sheriff curiously asked. “The kind of man that saves your a*s,” Stone answered with a smile. “How did you enter here unnoticed?” the Sheriff asked Stone. “Can you please stop playing a cop,” Jack whispered to the Sheriff. “He just saved our a*s. “That’s right,” the Sheriff replied. “But we don’t know him and can’t trust him,” the Sheriff added. Stone coughs and interrupted the Sheriff and Jack, “Perhaps is time to meet someone you could trust,” Stone said. “Who might that be?” the Sheriff asked without hesitating. “Is about time you meet with Clara,” Stone replied. “What! Clara is alive?” Jack asked.
